Gillin Eye Care's Tecumseh office now features new technology upgrades. The Optopol PTS 925 perimeter is our latest visual field analyzer, which is an automated diagnostic tool used to test a person's entire field of vision, including their central and peripheral (side) vision. The main purpose of the test is to detect blind spots (called scotomas) or areas of diminished vision that may be indicative of various eye, optic nerve, or brain conditions.

Technology upgrades at Gillin Eye Care! We now have OCT technology available at both locations! OCT stands for "Optical Coherence Tomography".
Optical coherence tomography is a non-invasive imaging technique used to create detailed, cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve. It helps in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. OCT uses light waves to generate high-resolution images, allowing doctors to visualize the different layers of the retina and detect subtle changes that may indicate disease.

We are very pleased and excited to announce that Dr. Megan Scholl will be joining our practice full-time upon her graduation from the Michigan College of Optometry in the spring of 2025! Dr. Scholl is a native of Lenawee County and is looking forward to providing eye care services for her home community.

A little history on the building where our Tecumseh office is located. Notice the horse standing in what is now the main entrance to the building. The building’s hallway was once an open passageway.

ca. 1895-Tecumseh - Charles Slayton, dealer of agricultural implements. Today's address would be 112-114 N. Evans.
