Breastfeeding depends on a synchronized pattern between the brain, cranial nerves, jaw and tongue movement, and breathing rhythm.

When that coordination is off, feeding can feel frustrating, tiring, or inconsistent for both baby and parent.

What looks like a latch issue or low supply is sometimes a nervous system organization issue happening in real time.

In our office, we assess how feeding is functioning, not just how it looks. When the nervous system and structure are working together, feeding often becomes more efficient and less stressful.

If feeding has felt harder than it should, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess how your baby’s system is coordinating feeding. 🤍

You didn’t hear this from me, but there’s one system in your child’s body that controls their sleep, their mood, their digestion, their focus, and their behavior — and it’s the last one anyone checks.

It’s called the nervous system. And it’s not just about back pain.

When your child’s nervous system is dysregulated, it doesn’t always look like what you’d expect. It looks like meltdowns. It looks like food battles. It looks like a kid who can’t settle at bedtime no matter what you try. It looks like a stomach that always hurts and a brain that can’t slow down.

These things seem unrelated. They’re not.

The nervous system is the master controller of every single system in your child’s body. When it’s out of balance — everything feels it.

The good news? When you support the system that runs everything else, everything else starts to shift.

That’s what we do at Taproot. We’re not chasing symptoms. We’re looking upstream — at the nervous system that’s been trying to tell you something this whole time.

Your mom gut has been right. There IS a root cause. And there are answers. 🌿

What you’re seeing on the surface is often the end result of a system that’s been under load for a while.

Behavior is often the final output, not the starting point.

If regulation isn’t available, no amount of correction will create consistent change. That’s why we look at how the system is functioning first.

Pediatric chiropractic care focuses on supporting nervous system regulation so kids have the capacity to respond, not just react.

If behavior feels constant or out of proportion, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess what their nervous system is managing. 🌿

They’re not NOT judging me. 👀😂

This is the unglamorous side of running a chiropractic office nobody talks about. The adjustments? Smooth. The nervous system scans? Dialed. The charting? …Mario and Luigi have opinions.

Pregnancy doesn’t feel the same for everyone, and there’s a reason. 🤍

Your body is constantly adapting to posture changes, hormone shifts, sleep disruption, and increasing physical load. All of that is coordinated by the nervous system.

When that system is adapting well, symptoms tend to feel more manageable. When it’s under strain, everything can feel more intense.

It’s not just physical. It’s neurological adaptation.

Chiropractic care supports how the nervous system and body communicate so those changes can be handled more efficiently.

If your pregnancy feels harder than expected, it may be time to get support. Schedule an evaluation and let’s help your body adapt more comfortably. 🌿

Some kids can engage in certain environments but struggle in others. That usually isn’t about effort, it’s about how much demand their nervous system can handle in that moment.

What looks like avoidance is often the system conserving energy when it’s already under load.

That’s why the same child can seem focused one minute and completely shut down the next.

In our office, we look at how the nervous system is functioning across environments, not just behavior in one setting.

If your child is inconsistent with focus, effort, or follow-through, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess how their nervous system is handling demand. 🌱

If your kid struggles to copy from the board, remember instructions, or stay focused during reading — this one’s for you. 👇

Most of us think focus is a willpower problem. But from a brain-based lens, it’s often a working memory problem.
Working memory is your child’s ability to hold onto visual information just long enough to do something with it. And for a lot of kids, that system is underdeveloped — not because they’re not trying, but because their brain hasn’t built that pathway yet.

The good news? You can help them build it. With a marker and a piece of paper.

The Symbol Memory Game works because it quietly trains the brain to retain and reproduce visual sequences — without it ever feeling like work. The singing or counting piece isn’t just for fun either. It forces the brain to lean on visual memory instead of verbal repetition, which is exactly the muscle we’re trying to strengthen. 🎯

Short. Simple. Playful. And building something real every single time you sit down together.

This is what Brain Blossom is all about — play-based activities with a purpose. Because short and consistent beats long and occasional, every single time.

Save this one and try it this week. Even 5 minutes counts. 💛

Many families start with diet, hydration, or supplements. Sometimes that helps, but when it doesn’t hold, there’s usually another layer involved.

Digestion is heavily regulated by the nervous system, which controls timing, coordination, and communication between the brain and the gut.

If that signaling is inconsistent, digestion will be too, even when everything else looks “right.”

In our office, we assess how the nervous system is communicating with the body, because that’s what drives function long term.

If your child’s digestion feels unpredictable despite trying all the usual things, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess how their system is functioning. 🌿

Here’s what ADHD actually looks like through a brain-based lens — and it might change everything for you. 🤍

Your child isn’t broken. They’re not bad. They’re not even being difficult on purpose.

Their brain is just using its most efficient tools to regulate itself — and those tools typically live in the movement and touch realm.

Crashing into things. Fidgeting constantly. Chewing everything. Can’t sit still. Easily distracted, always moving.

That’s not defiance. That’s a nervous system doing the best it can with what it has.

The real challenge? There’s a mismatch between what the environment is demanding — sit down, be quiet, focus for 6 hours — and the tools their brain has available to meet that demand.

So instead of asking “how do we stop the behavior?” we ask “how do we build more sophisticated tools so their brain has better options?”

That’s exactly what we do at Taproot — and through our Brain Blossom approach. We work with the nervous system to build new pathways so kids can access focus, attention, and regulation without needing to bounce off the walls to get there. 🌿

Save this one for the next hard moment. And if you want to go deeper, link in bio to book at Taproot in Temecula.

By the time you’re seeing behavior, the nervous system has already moved through stress, reduced capacity, and failed regulation.

That’s why focusing only on behavior often doesn’t create lasting change, it’s the end of the chain, not the beginning.

In our office, we assess where the breakdown is happening and support the nervous system earlier in the process so behavior doesn’t have to carry the signal.

If behavior feels constant or doesn’t improve with typical approaches, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess how your child’s nervous system is functioning. 🔍

What a child takes in through their senses is processed by the nervous system and then expressed as behavior.

When that processing is disorganized or overloaded, the output can look inconsistent, big reactions one moment, shutdown the next.

That’s not random. It’s how the system is handling input.

In our office, we look at how efficiently the nervous system is processing and responding, not just the behavior that follows.

If your child’s reactions feel unpredictable or out of proportion, it may be time to look deeper. Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess how their system is processing input. 🔄
