In recognition of National Stroke Month, attendees heard from Dr. Luis Guada, board-certified neurologist and neuroendovascular surgeon, along with Leann Terlecki, Stroke Program Manager, for an important discussion on recognizing the signs and symptoms of stroke using the BE FAST method.

Dr. Guada shared critical insight on how to identify stroke warning signs, what to do in an emergency, and why acting BE FAST can truly save lives.

What started as a simple hospital visit turned into a life-saving moment for 82-year-old Karen Mora.

While visiting her husband at Temecula Valley Hospital, Karen suddenly experienced weakness and numbness in her left arm—warning signs of a stroke. Thanks to the quick action of a TVH stroke-certified nurse and rapid, coordinated care from our medical team, Karen received immediate treatment that helped prevent a devastating outcome.
