Carlsbad Marathon in the books ✅

PR 💨 2:58:17
BQ 🦄 (3:05:00 qualify time)

Kept it quiet for the last couple months 🤫
The early work outs…
The nutrition plan…
The data tracking…
The proper recovery…
Job. Is. Done. ☑️

4 years later, I finally found the right formula. I would never have gotten here if it wasn’t for the injuries, the races that didn’t go my way, the tired legs, the mismanagement of work/family/fitness. I’m so grateful for all of it. Thank you MOST to my wife, kids, friends/family for ALWAYS having my back and always believing in me!

My takeaways…
☝️ Identifying lactic threshold, and knowing how to increase it properly
☝️ No alcohol
☝️ Active recovery options
☝️ Trusting taper
🚨 And of course…so many times I said “I need to lose weight to get there, I have too broad of shoulders, I need to sacrifice muscle to be “the ideal runner”…well screw that…I’M IN CONTROL OF MY OUTCOME!

For anyone feeling down, feeling hopeless, feeling like they just can’t catch a break, please know…
Plan out your goal
Follow through
Realize you are a BAD MF! You got this s**t, I guarantee it. And if you still don’t believe it, call me, DM me, hit me up. Let’s do this together ❤️

Temecula Winery Half Marathon in the books ✅

Sheesh…this race was a tough one! Nothing but hills and dirt roads, but a great training opportunity for Carlsbad Marathon in January.

More importantly, it was great to run with all the dads in our group and having our kids see all of us busting our asses💪

As always, having my family support me in something I continue to LOVE after all these years! 🐧

It was really cool seeing alot of familiar faces and catching up with local runners. The wine was perfect too 🍷 🥂

Always working, even if I’m not posting it✌️

🚨 Exciting News! 🚨

Hello everyone…I am honored to announce that I’ve been selected to run the 2025 Chicago Marathon as a St. Jude Heroes runner! 🏃‍♂️💙

This race means more than just crossing the finish line…it’s about making a difference for the kids and families fighting life-threatening illnesses at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

As a dedicated father, I know firsthand how much family means, and I’d do anything for mine. That’s why I’m committed to this cause—so every family at St. Jude gets the help they need without having to worry about the cost of treatment.

🎯 My goal is to raise $5,000 to help fund the groundbreaking research and treatments that save lives every day. Every dollar counts, and no donation is too small!

⚡️ Donation link is posted in Comments ⬇️

Together, we can help ensure that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude. Let’s make this marathon about more than just miles🌟

Thank you for your support! 💛

FINAL Week 8 ✅ 🔥 🏁

Monday - REST
Tuesday- REST
Wednesday - 4 mile Recovery Run at 8:26/mile
Thursday- 4 mile Base Run at 7:41/mile
Friday - 4 mile Tempo Run at 7:11/mile
Saturday - 6 mile Base Run at 7:50/mile
Sunday - 8 mile Long Run at 7:49/mile

Thats it…training is done!!!

This upcoming week will be two SMALL recovery runs (2-3 miles), and a shakeout run two days before the race…thats it. There’s no workout that will help me at this point. Alot of REST 😴

All that work JUST to get to the starting line next week. This was by far the toughest marathon regimen I made for myself…very strict, very consistent, very intricate. My food stayed the same, my paces were defined, and not a SINGLE workout was missed, no matter how early it was, or how tired my body and mind were.

I will say, I had an amazing time throughout these last couple months. Not a lot of posts, not a lot of talk, but alot of showing up 💯 🤫 . Looking forward to putting it all together in Huntington Beach at next Sunday!

Hope to see some of the Cali locals there 🤙✌️🏁

Week 7 ☑️ ☔️

Completed weekly mileage: 35 miles

Monday - REST
Tuesday - REST
Wednesday - 5 mile Recovery Run at 8:57/mi
Thursday - 4 mile Marathon Pace Run at 6:54/mi
Friday - Hill Repeats at 8:55/mi
Saturday- 8 mile Base Run run at 7:49/mi
Sunday - 12 mile Long Run at 7:39/mile (watch problems all run 😑)

Process moving forward: Mileage DROPS, intensity stays the same. My body and mind still need to learn to be outside running for long periods of time. The legs are still sore and tired, but I know with the same diet, hydration, and rehab methods, I’ll be fine on race day.

Positive thoughts -> Positive results!

Week 6 ☑️ 😃

Completed weekly mileage: 60 miles

Monday - REST
Tuesday - 5 mile Recovery Run at 9:18/mi
Wednesday - 5 mile Recovery Run at 8:50/mi
Thursday - 9 mile 800m repeats at 8:17/mi
Friday - 10 mile Base Run at 7:56/mi
Saturday- 10 mile Marathon Pace run at 7:16/mi
Sunday - 20 mile Long Run at 7:50/mile

TAPER TIME! 🙌

The challenging workouts are done…The purpose of training over the next three weeks is to allow myself to rest my body after the previous weeks of progressively tougher training. This means gradually reducing the training load.

This is the time to rest, but also to ensure my mind doesn’t race constantly about the lack of workouts and mileage…when we taper, we have to remember to follow the blueprint, and trust the process.

Week 5 ☑️

Completed weekly mileage: 40 miles

Monday - REST
Tuesday - 5 mile Recovery Run at 9:05/mi
Wednesday - 5 mile Recovery Run at 9/04/mi
Thursday - 6 mile Base Run at 7:56/mi
Friday - 6 mile Tempo Run at 7:26/mi
Saturday- 5k Race at 6:09/mi 🥈 & 3 mile cooldown
Sunday - 12 mile long run at 7:59/mile

Almost there! This upcoming week will be tough…
60 planned miles with an added 20 mile run to make sure im fully acclimated for raceday distances.

Increasing the calories and hydration to avoid injury. It was an easy week in terms of volume and workouts…but been feeling super tired lately, both in the legs and in the mind, so ensuring my carb, protein and electrolyte intake is full will be critical to avoid injury 💪

This is usually the hardest part of the training cycle…knowing I have ONE more challenging week. I’ll keep reminding myself that I signed up for this, and it will all make sense on February 4th

Sub-3 hour BQ on THEE way 🍻 🎉 🦄

Saturday - 10 mile Marathon-pace run at 6:54/mile
Sunday - 20 mile long run at 8:09/mile

December training ☑️
Total Mileage - 204 miles

What a month! Very challenging, but extremely necessary for my race. January will be hard, but taper will start mid-month, so this month was when all the essential workouts needed to be done. 2/2 long runs, a speed workout, hill workout, and marathon-pace mid-distance run.

January I’ll continue to put the work in, and start the new year off right 🔥 🎉

Saturday - 6 mile Base Run at 7:40/mile
Sunday (Today) - 12 mile Long Run at 7:49/mile

Tomorrow will be a quick strength training day, about 30-45 minutes. Nothing crazy, just enough to get a good stretch of the muscles 💪…back at it Tuesday morning, bright and early 🐦 🪱

Happy Holidays to everyone! Enjoy the time off, but keep the foot on the pedal ✌️ ❤️

Week 2 ☑️

20 mile run to finish the week. This is 1 of 2 looooong runs needed before taper at the end of January before the marathon. The next long run will be a 3 hour run…the goal of these: train the body AND mind to be on my feet for nearly the same amount of time of the marathon.

Week 2 split:
Monday - 6 mile recovery run at 9:00/mile
Tuesday - 10 mile base run at 7:40/mile
Wednesday - REST
Thursday - 10 mile base run at 7:50/mile
Friday - 6 mile tempo run at 6:40/mile
Saturday - REST
Sunday - 20 mile long run at 8:08/mile

Time to stretch, eat, recover, and eat some more 💪

Week 3 will be more recovery and strength training to keep the body running properly.

Have a great week everyone ✌️ ❤️
