Whether I’m flowing through vinyasa, curled up with tea 🍵, or wrangling little feet and paws, I try to lead with heart, purpose, and a whole lot of hope.

“May we live like the lotus, at home in muddy water.”
-Gautama Buddha

On life - Find peace and resilience amidst challenging circumstances.

On yoga - When you’re practicing any form of yoga (specially asana), lean in and find your version of stability. Challenge yourself only to a point where discomfort is tolerable.

Photo dump from The Starbucks Roastery in Japan. Back in 2023 I took a trip to Asia. While most people visit for coffee, I was interested in all things tea and hung out at the Teavana bar on the second floor of the store. Instead of using a hand held stone grinder to turn the tea leaves into powder, they had a machine doing the work.

Another spot I visited for matcha was Suzukien Asakusa. I bought a sample of matcha chocolate with all 7 levels of matcha. Fun fact- you’re allotted 2 canisters of matcha per person to travel back home with. Not sure if that’s changed.

An ode to matcha——
My favorite drink is out for summer!! While any matcha will do, I absolutely love an Iced Coconut Matcha with a water base. Some might call me crazy for not getting this drink with coconut milk, but I prefer the texture to be lighter. This year they added pea flower flavoring. While to some it might sound like the drink would taste floral, it doesnt at all (to me).
Tip: you can order this drink after the season is over… It probably won’t have the pea flower though, just fyi 💚

This pose is one of my favorites because of all the elements it brings together. It challenges balance as you ground through one leg, includes a gentle backbend (especially if you flip your grip and catch the back foot with both hands overhead), and opens the chest and heart space.

Depending on your body, you might keep a soft bend in the standing knee to prevent hyperextension or lean forward with an arm extended for stability. Every variation is valid — what matters most is feeling safe, supported, and connected in the pose. Yoga isn’t about how it looks, but how it feels. 🙏

This pose is one of my favorites because of all the different elements involved into getting in and out of the pose.

1) it requires balance, standing on one leg and grounding as you root the standing foot to the ground.
2) there is a back bend element- which is even more noticeable if you are able to flip your grip and grab the back foot with both hands over head.
3) Chest and heart opens here as well.

Depending on the body, the pose can be seen with a bend in the standing knee to prevent hyper extension, the body leaning more forward with an arm extended… These variations all depend on how the body feels when getting into the pose. I always like to stress that the way it looks in one person may not be the same and that’s ok! As long as the practioner is safe and feels secure- the pose is the way it is meant to be. 🙏🙏🙏

This is a great and easy pose you can do at home after a long day of being on your feet! “Legs-on-the-wall” or Viparita Karani aids in sleeping and 5-10 minutes of this can help releasing tension.

I will post a video showing many ways to get into this pose soon. Stay tuned! ✨

Do you think you have just a few minutes to disconnect and disengage? I sat down at a restaurants and had dinner by myself in the city. My first instinct was to pull out my phone and go through emails, texts, whatever I missed throughout the day. Instead, I sat silently and went through my notes from class. As my food came to the table, I noticed everyone that walked by would look inside the restaurant at what patrons were eating (I’ll admit, that’s what drew me into the restaurant too!) I also inadvertently listened to people’s conversation since the tables were so close together 🫢🤫

My point?! Be present in the moment you’re in and observe what’s going on around you. Eating is rest and rejuvenating 😌 agree to disagree 😜

I cannot believe the year is half way over and feel as if 2025 just started! What is going on with the speed of time???! This is a friendly reminder of things that we often take for granted. I might not be able to do everything on this list daily, but I’m happy when I get to tick 2 or 3 of them off! What reminders would you give yourself this month?

In order to accomplish all that is on my ever growing to-do lists, I’ve leaned into more passive practices of yoga. This July I’ll be deep diving into a Restorative yoga training and am so excited to share new techniques.

As I was doing some self discovery, I found 2 different schools of thought for Yin yoga. I’m wondering if any of you knew Zink’s style existed??? I’ve learned a couple unique stretches from his style of work.
