Patients often ask about the risk of to***co exposure around the time of surgery. Research shows that discontinuing to***co use for approximately 28 days provides the maximum risk reduction. Beyond that point, continued abstinence makes little additional difference — until you reach the 15-year mark of cessation.

What I tell patients is this: stopping for about a month will give us the greatest risk reduction we can achieve in the short term, but you won't return to baseline risk until you've been to***co-free for approximately 15 years.

Patients often ask how THC or cannabis products will affect their surgery.

In a recent study of 27,000 patients, using THC did not lead to cardiac, wound healing, pulmonary, or blood clot complications.

It did, however, double the patient's baseline risk of a heart attack.

For that reason, we recommend discontinuing all THC and cannabis products two weeks prior to surgery.

So this is a BBL pillow and it's very different than a round, circular pillow. I usually describe it kind of like a loaf of bread. 🍞

It sits on the edge of your chair and supports the back of your thighs so that your backside doesn't actually touch the seat. That's really important for blood flow.

What we're trying to do is maximize blood flow into the area of the grafted material, so we have patients use this anytime they sit down for the first two weeks, and then anytime they're sitting for longer than 15 minutes for the next four weeks.

Earlier studies suggested that women with breast implants had a harder time breastfeeding. When that data was re-examined, they found that women with breast implants tend to naturally have smaller breasts, and women with smaller breasts can have a lower ability to breastfeed over time.

When comparing women with the same breast size, implants do not appear to make a difference. It was found that breast size, not implants, is the key factor in breastfeeding ability.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, Dr. Yu attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She continued and finished her training as a plastic surgery specialist at the University of Southern California (USC) and the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Institute.

Dr. Yu loves the challenges and creativity that the field of plastic surgery presents. “It actually matters who you are. Because you bring in your own individual touch and artistry.”

When not working, Dr. Yu and her husband are foodies, frequently going from restaurants to donut shops or street vendors in search for something interesting. Although life has gotten busy with two young boys, Dr. Yu also enjoys drawing and painting, playing the piano and viola, and reading (but now, she mostly reads children’s books). As a family, they have a cat named “Doc.” She works to provide the best plastic surgery care for her patients in the Temecula and Redlands areas.
