Dental health in infants is vital because it sets the foundation for lifelong oral health. Even before teeth appear, parents should gently clean their baby’s gums with a soft cloth to remove bacteria. Once teeth erupt, brush twice daily with a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste. Avoid putting babies to bed with bottles containing milk or juice, as this can cause “baby bottle tooth decay.” Regular dental visits should start by the first birthday to monitor development and prevent early cavities. Good early habits help ensure healthy, strong teeth and a happy smile as the child grows.
