Dr. Martha Ruiz-Shank

Dr. Martha Ruiz-Shank I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing individual, couple, family, and child therapy. I am passionate about and devoted to my work with clients.

Soy Psicóloga y ofrezco terapia individual, de familia, pareja y niños. Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the BRAVEST thing we will ever do -Brené Brown-

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience providing individual, couple, family, and play therapy. My style is warm, empathic, and genuine, yet, direct in an effort to assist clients in refuting self-doubt. I join my clients in their journeys and focus on their strengths, instill hope, and facilitate empowerment. I have worked with individuals combating depression, anxiety, and various life transitions with families struggling with communication issues and imbalance in the family system, with couples experiencing marital discord, and with children struggling with sexual abuse, trauma, and behavioral and emotional problems. I also have extensive experience working with mother’s suffering from Postpartum Depression (PPD). My work with these women sparked an interest in providing services to their partner, as I found that fathers are often left in the dark during this challenging life transition. I invite you to contact me for a brief consultation. I will meet you where you are, emotionally and psychologically, and together we will explore the change you seek within. TERAPIA EN ESPAÑOL :

🛋️ Where Stories Unfold and Hearts Heal 🛋️

This couch has been a safe space for courage, healing, and transformation. Week after week, people sit here and do the deep, brave work of showing up for themselves and for the younger parts within them that still need love, care, and compassion.

Many are healing from childhood wounds and traumas, learning to extend gentleness to their past selves so they can live with more peace, wholeness, and freedom.

I am continually humbled and proud of the work my clients do — the tears, the breakthroughs, the quiet moments of insight and growth. Healing isn’t easy, but it’s sacred.

Start your healing journey, today 🤍

✨New Book Feature: No-Drama Discipline✨

In therapy, adults often come seeking healing for themselves — to process anxiety, depression, trauma, or other life difficulties/ transitions. As a psychologist, I also pay attention to their relationships with their children, especially for those who are parents.

Why? Because breaking generational cycles isn’t just about personal growth, it’s also about how we show up in our closest relationships. And for many, that includes parenting.

And that is why, I often recommend books like No-Drama Discipline, The Whole-Brain Child, and Parenting From The Inside Out — not to “fix” parenting, but to offer tools that help strengthen connection, emotional regulation, and mutual respect in the parent-child relationship.

When parents heal, they raise emotionally healthier children and that is where true transformation begins.

Parenting From The Inside Out is my go-to recommendation for new parents 🤍

💬 Have you read No-Drama Discipline, The Whole Brain Child or Parenting From The Inside Out? What books have helped shape your parenting journey?
