Happy Birthday to the heart and horsepower behind Michelle’s Place , our fearless leader and longtime guiding light, Kim Gerrish.

For over 21 years, Kim has poured her heart into this mission. From pulling her little girls in a red wagon at early events to sitting on hospital and tumor boards sharing Michelle’s story and she’s shown up in every way possible. She’s fought for clients to be heard, empowered others to speak up, and never stopped believing in what this place could become.

Kim leads like she lives, with love, strength, and a determination that doesn’t quit. Like a freight train full of compassion, she’s carried us forward, never running out of steam or heart.

Today we celebrate you, Kim! With deep gratitude and so much love from your staff, volunteers, and the countless clients whose lives are better because of you.

Happy Birthday to our Amazing and Energetic Fundraising and Development Officer, Miss Amber Berkey

If you know Amber, you know her energy is magnetic. She brings big ideas to life, works tirelessly behind the scenes, and somehow still manages to make everyone around her feel seen and supported.

She is the driving force behind so much of our fundraising and development—but more than that, she pours her heart into everything she touches. Her love for this mission, and for the people we serve, shows up in the details, in the late nights, and in the way she never settles for “good enough.”

All of that and she’s an incredibly devoted wife, a present and engaged mom to three amazing kids, and an active, joyful force in her Fallbrook community.

Amber, you are a light here at Michelle’s Place. Your passion moves us, your commitment lifts us, and your heart leads the way.
