This year marks 80 years since the end of World War II. At Atria Seville, residents came together to honor that legacy with a Spirit of ’45 celebration.

Among them was Bob, who was just 18 in 1945 when he joined the Military’s Victory Parade Marching Band. His willingness to serve, along with so many others, reminds us why the “Greatest Generation” will never be forgotten.

Jaffa and Jane are 100 and Fabulous!

Atria Forest Hills had the honor of sharing this milestone with two of their residents at the same time. "These ladies are both resilient, full of wisdom and have an infectious sense of humor," shares Sherice, the community's Engage Life Director. "We’ve had the privilege of knowing Jaffa and Jane for many years, sharing countless amazing moments together."

Reaching 100 years is an extraordinary achievement, filled with triumphs, challenges and experiences. Jaffa shares her tip for living to 100, "When problems find you, face them. The faster you face them, the better." While Jane shares her most rewarding thing about growing older, "I can relax and enjoy all that life brings."

If you’ve ever passed by the library or dining room at Atria Park of Vintage Hills, chances are you’ve seen Bob, the community's resident bookworm, deep in thought with a book or newspaper in hand and a peaceful smile on his face.

“I’ve always believed that books are a way to travel without leaving your seat,” Bob says. “You meet new people, see new places and learn something new every time you open a cover.”

Bob’s passion for reading has become a quiet tradition in his community. He often recommends titles to other residents, donates gently used novels to the library and is known to spark wonderful conversations about the stories he’s read.

When Yvette helped her mom, Norma, move into our community, she wasn’t quite sure how her mom would adjust to a new environment. Change can be difficult, but Yvette hoped this would be a place where Norma could feel at home and continue to enjoy life.

A few months later, those hopes became a beautiful reality. Norma has truly blossomed—her days are now filled with joy, companionship, and purpose. She enjoys social gatherings, bingo, the walking club, and creative crafts, all of which bring out her bright, joyful spirit.

💬 “Mom is so much happier now—she’s made wonderful friends, stays active, and we can see her smile again,” shares Yvette.

Did you know October is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of Polish Americans in culture, science, art and more?

Our Taste Poland event featured classic Central European flavors, including pierogies with caramelized onions, kielbasa with cucumber salad, potatoes and sauerkraut, and sernik, traditional Polish cheesecake.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!
