Starting on December 15, Phoenix 911 operators will add a new question during call intake: “Do you need police, fire or behavioral health?”

The goal of this change is to ensure the right help is sent to the right calls, reducing unnecessary police responses while providing faster, more specialized support for behavioral health-related emergencies.
