Dear Families,
We are horrified by the situation around SNAP in our country. One in five children in this country relies on SNAP for food security. Although there are lots of ways that families can access food pantries, there is likely going to be more need than that can support.
We considered making food to give away here, but that seemed inefficient, (what with the terrible parking and all). Also, we have babies to catch.
We heard the idea online of connecting families to support one another directly and some of us have felt called to do so. We know a lot of families may be in a place to give and many who may be in a place of need - so we thought we might help pair up families so that givers can directly pay for the groceries of families in need. We will leave it up to you to arrange the exchange - you could provide grocery store gift cards, you could go (no judgement!) shopping together, you could exchange November grocery receipts for cash. We would merely connect the two families together. Mutual aid for the win.

The average Arizona SNAP (Nutrition Assistance) monthly payment for 2025 is approximately $360 per household. So if you are called to help out or receive assistance, please reach out via DM or email at hello@tempebirthcenter.com
If you want to directly donate pantry items or food, please bring them to a local food kitchen and see our post from a few days ago.
