One of the "assignments" I give my clients who suffer from anxiety or ruminating thoughts is to begin a gratitude journal. In the beginning, it can feel like a punishment because the last thing you want to do when you're feeling super anxious or trapped in a cycle of unwanted thoughts is to write down the things for which you are thankful. After tremendous positive feedback from multiple clients, I have decided to implement my own advice. I got myself this cute little journal that came with some positive affirmations (something I encourage for low self-esteem, self-blame, & negative self-talk). I can't wait to see the positive changes in my own life!
