4 years ago there was a literature review done on Hydrotherapy. If you're interested in learning more about hydrotherapy, you might find this article ideal. It covers several suspected benefits from current research, but more than that, it covers different types of hydrotherapy. If you'd like to be exposed to several different types of hydrotherapy and some of their respective uses, you might really enjoy this article. If you'd like to see if hydrotherapy can have a benefit to you personally, see your local Naturopathic Physician.

Research Update
Publication date. Nov. 29, 2017. Cupping may decrease tissue damage, increase mobility, and decrease pain from sports injuries for some people.

SCNM and Naturopathic lovers of Sports Medicine. Welcome back to school! Here's a little research article from pubmed to welcome you back. It's an exciting literature review. They looked at several of the largest studies ever done on cupping and sports medicine across several countries and across several sports for athletes who received regular cupping therapy. Then they reviewed that literature. They were rightly cautious in their conclusions, but they listed several benefits to cupping that came from this research. As always, take all research with a grain of salt. Nothing in health science is ever really conclusive, and it may not mean results for you personally. Nevertheless, this literature review is encouraging for the development of cupping research.

This is the 4th iteration of the long overdue. “I’m eating healthy and feeling like lousy. Why!?” 🤔

What’s up with this! You start your day with your bone broth protein shake. You’re having canned wild caught sardines or salmon and a massive salad for lunch. And dinner is even better! A slow cooked chuck roast, with some yams, and a ton of vegetables. Sounds like a solid plan to me. Heck, you’ve even stopped your late-night eating with the Netflix binge, you’re exercising, getting sunlight, destressing. Nature cure in action.

Pat yourself on the back and don't give up. It's a hard road. I know how frustrating it can be to invest a lot of energy and receive little in return. Sometimes there's a few tweaks that make all the difference.

So what gives?

You might be suffering from histamine intoxication!

I used to think histamine tolerance wasn't very relevant. But for you folks out there slamming slow cooked meats, bone broth, and canned fish, it's definitely a variable to be considered.

I just had some feedback on the original instagram post. Gal with severe joint pain and other problems removed gelatin and bone broth from her diet, added some food sources of Vitamin C and cleared her joint pain, entirely. She was even able to eat dairy again! Which, is funny, because broth and gelatin are excellent foods for your joints and digestive tract. That is absolutely true. But not in everyone's context.

There's a lot of aggressive approaches in addressing histamine intoxication. But those approaches are likely unnecessary. A few easy modifications to your diet might be all you need.

Give this a quick read.
