Inflammation might be the reason you're not losing weight. Here are 5 things you can do about it.
As I mentioned before, eating healthy and incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet is the first major lifestyle change that you need to make. But this alone is not enough to fight your chronic inflammation!
Aside from eating healthier foods, other things you can do to reduce chronic inflammation include:
๐ Balance your hormones - hormonal imbalances can contribute to leaky gut syndrome or Crohn's disease.
๐ Get plenty of sleep and stay active during the day.
๐ Vitamin D is essential since vitamin D helps regulate the immune system. Try to have at least 15 minutes of sunlight exposure per day.
๐ Reduce your exposure to toxins and chemicals since these substances contain free radicals that contribute to inflammation.
๐ก Switch to using non-toxic or organic household cleaners, cosmetics, water bottles, and pesticides, and avoid anything that contains phthalates, BPA, and other harmful chemicals.
๐ Let's not forget about stress! When your stress becomes chronic, your inflammatory responses will jump into action, and your body will enter into a fight-or-flight response with your nervous system.
Some stress relief techniques include meditation, yoga, journaling, talking with friends, or walking in nature.
