A big congratulations to Dr. Shah on winning the Tampa Bay Top Docs award 4 years in a row! Joseph Manzo, a patient of Dr. Shah shares his story:

“In my opinion, Dr. Shah is one of the finest Orthopedic Doctors you will ever find! In June 2023, he performed a successful operation on my femur that was nearly destroyed by a rare cancer. Then, in January 2024, he diagnosed a rare osteomyelitis that I contracted when I underwent a bone marrow biopsy at another facility. In both cases, Dr. Shah spent considerable time with me explaining the procedures, treatment, and what to expect in recovery. Thanks to Dr. Shah, I am alive, healthy, and able to walk without any problems. I cannot say enough good things about this fine doctor. His reputation in the medical community is exceptional - and I can tell you, first-hand, it is well-deserved.”

From starting as a scheduling rep to now serving as Manager of Patient Access, Julie’s passion for smooth, compassionate patient experiences has touched countless lives. She’s watched FOI grow from 10 providers to the thriving organization it is today, and has been an essential part of that journey every step of the way.

A big congratulations to Dr. Epting on winning the Tampa Bay Top Docs award 7 years in a row! Tim Malloy, a patient of Dr. Epting, shares his story:

“I am very happy to hear that Dr. Epting has won the award for Tampa Bay Top Doctors for 2025!

I am grateful I found Dr. Epting. To say I have a very complicated ankle is an understatement. Dr. Epting did my last three ankle surgeries, including ankle replacement. He is patient, kind and understanding, as is his staff, and everyone I have had the pleasure of working with at Florida Orthopedic Institute.

Thanks to Dr. Epting‘s skill and expertise, I no longer have pain. I am able to walk, workout, maintain our home, travel and enjoy life - all pain free! Thank you, Dr. Epting, and the staff and Florida Orthopedic Institute!”

Congratulations to Dr. Garcia for being honored as a Tampa Bay Top Doc for the third year in a row! Ruben Leto, a patient of Dr. Garcia shares his story:

“It was my junior year of high school, and finally, it was my turn to be scouted for college baseball. During an intrasquad game on Gasparilla, everything changed. I felt a sharp pain in my arm—like it had completely torn apart after I pitched the ball. My heart sank. I thought, this is it. This is the end of my baseball career. After seeing multiple doctors and being referred all over the Bay Area, I met Dr. Garcia. What a blessing it was to be referred to him!

His bedside manner, optimism, and genuine care stood out. He didn’t just treat me—he gave me hope. Dr. Garcia believed I could pitch again, and that belief carried me through. After undergoing Tommy John surgery and a year of intensive therapy, I made a full recovery. Dr. Garcia guided me step by step with customized protocols and unwavering support. Because of him, I’m now living my dream—playing college baseball. Thank you, Dr. Garcia, for giving me back my arm and helping me reclaim my future”
