Thanks to a generous donation from Valvoline Inc., McLane Children’s Medical Center has received a grant to support mental health resources for kids in our Pediatric Emergency Department.

This grant will provide psychologically safe entertainment and sensory tools — like tumbling mats, Bluetooth headphones, and Nintendo Switches — to help create a calmer, more supportive environment for children during moments of crisis.

We’re so grateful for partners who are investing in the mental well-being of the kids in our community!

McLane Children's welcomed Baylor University Linebacker Keaton Thomas, our new brand ambassador for McLane Children's! We are so excited to have him! Keaton got a firsthand look at the hospital and specialty clinic in Temple, and got to meet patients and staff. He even went through the "kids door" in our pediatric cancer center. What a wonderful day! We appreciate Keaton and Baylor University for their partnerships.

🎉 We’re excited to announce that we’ve received a 2025 grant from The Toy Foundation Play Fund!

Thanks to generous support from The Toy Foundation, McLane Children’s was able to purchase a KittenScanner to help children feel more comfortable before MRI procedures. Coming soon—this interactive tool uses a small-scale version of an MRI scanner and hands-on learning to show young patients what to expect, improve cooperation, and even lower the need for sedation.
