This week, we proudly celebrate our Respiratory Therapists — the quiet strength behind so many patient recoveries, the steady hands and calm voices in our intensive care units, emergency departments, and every care area in between. Your expertise helps patients take their next breath with confidence and hope.

Thank you for the compassion, skill, and teamwork you bring to every shift. You are an essential part of our healing mission, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.

A social worker with Adventist Health, Ann brought her trademark strength and optimism to her cancer diagnosis. Although breast cancer is part of her story, it does not define who she is. She is a sister, a wife, a mother of two — and she is more than breast cancer.

Ann took action when she felt a lump in her right breast. You can take control of your health too. Visit AdventistHealth.org/BreastHealth to schedule a mammogram today.

Cancer treatments have come a long way. According to Dr. Jekwon Yeh, modern chemotherapy is far more patient-friendly than it was in the past, with fewer side effects and better options for managing symptoms. Radiation therapy has also advanced, with oncologists now using precise 3D planning to minimize exposure and reduce toxicity. All of these advancements are creating safer, more effective care.

At Adventist Health on the Central Coast, gratitude is at the heart of healing and we’re excited to introduce the Grateful Journeys Program — a new way for patients, families, and caregivers to share stories of exceptional compassion and express appreciation for those who make a difference every day.

Through these stories, we celebrate the dedication and kindness that define our mission of whole-person healing. Each act of gratitude reminds us why we’re here: to bring hope, healing, and wholeness to our community.

If you’ve experienced exceptional care and want to say thank you, please share your story and consider making a gift that supports our caregivers and patients.

Seen a report of your screentime lately? We’ve all been using our phones and computers more and more. And screentime use has its upsides: staying informed, entertained and connected with friends and family. But that can also cause an increase in depression, negative body image, poor-quality sleep and stress. Visit ahlink.org/3OpWFIT to learn how limiting the time you spend on your phone or computer can make you feel better.

Adventist Health is proud to participate in Socktober this month. Many unsheltered people walk often and don’t have laundry facilities at close reach. That’s why socks are the top-requested item at shelters, yet they are the least donated. Join us for Socktober to help change that. New socks can be dropped off in our cafes at Adventist Health Sierra Vista and Adventist Health Twin Cities and will be distributed to our local shelters.
