Dr. Charles Chalekson is a board certified plastic surgeon who serves the residents of the greater San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties of California, as well as the community of Templeton. He attended UCLA as an undergraduate where he studied Psychobiology and graduated with departmental highest honors. Subsequently, he attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine where
he received his medical degree, completing several distinguished honors and awards. Dr. Chalekson then had the honor of being selected to attend one of the country’s first 6- year plastic surgery residency programs immediately after medical school as opposed to traditional 2-3 year training programs. Following over six years of postgraduate training in Illinois, Dr. Chalekson attained board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His expertise ranges from aesthetic surgeries of the face, breast and body, microvascular reconstruction to breast reconstruction. Dr. Chalekson has several published peer reviewed papers and has presented at many national and local plastic surgery meetings. He has won several honors and grants for his research and has been distinguished with the best presentation paper at the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation’s senior resident meeting in 2002. Throughout his education, Dr. Chalekson worked alongside well-known doctors and is a member of the associated with organizations like the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, American Association of Hand Surgery, American College of Surgeons. Dr. Chalekson opened his private plastic surgery practice in his hometown of Torrance in 2002. Then he moved his practice to Templeton where he and his family can enjoy the Central Coast.
