Massage Policies and Procedures
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
Your therapy time is reserved exclusively for you. I value your business and ask that you respect my policies. Should you need to reschedule or cancel, I ask that you notify me no less than 24 hours ahead of time.
Any cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled appointment are subject to 50% of the service fee, the other 50% will be applied to the next service. Clients who fail to notify me within the duration of my travel or are not at the location specified when I show up for your appointment, will be charged the full price of the service. Please recognize that my time is valuable, as is yours, so this is why these policies are being implemented. When an appointment is missed, I not only lose your business, but I also lose the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time.
All services will be required to be paid ahead of time to guarantee your appointment.
Scope of Practice
I am a licensed massage therapist through the Washington State Department of Health and insured through Hands on Trade Association and held to the highest standards of both.
Massage therapy is a profession in which I, the practitioner, apply manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.
I do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. I may refer you to a medical doctor for a diagnosis or treatment. My services are not intended as an alternative to proper medical attention for specific conditions. If you have any specific medical conditions, please refer to your doctor for any specific treatments required for your condition.
Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries
I will be happy to make sure your needs are met. Please do not hesitate to ask me to adjust my pressure, work on any specific area more or less or to avoid an area altogether.
You may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed to feel comfortable, refuse any massage methods or stop the massage at any time.
You will always be respectfully and modestly draped, and I will only undrape the area that will be massaged.
There is zero tolerance, space or place for sexual conversation or interaction between the client and I at any given time during our time together. I will also not entertain religious or political views.
Confidentiality and Conversation
Your time spent with me always remains confidential. None of your information will be discussed with anyone without your expressed written consent.
You are neither required to talk or remain silent during a massage. Everyone relaxes differently, if that means you need to remain quiet, I will respect that, if you need to chit chat, that’s absolutely fine. The session will be guided by you, the client.
New and Pre-existing Medical Conditions
It is the responsibility of you, the client, to keep me informed of any new or pre existing medical conditions, medications being taken, or treatments being given via your healthcare provider(s). I may ask that you be cleared by your medical provider prior to receiving massage therapy depending on your condition(s), this includes chemo/radiation therapies, and ask that written approval be provided.
If you have any questions about any of the above information, please feel free to email me at meganboucherlmt@gmail.com or call/text me at 253-722-7612
