I used to eat ALLLLL processed and fried foods, barely move, and just felt…meh.
Not terrible, but definitely not confident or GOOD either.

Then working as a nurse in the ICU changed everything.

I saw firsthand what happens when people don’t take care of their health…
ventilators, tubes, preventable diseases.
And that changed my entire mindset on MY health. But you can imagine making a change from all of the friend processed foods I ate to ANYTHING healthy was a bit of a stretch for me.

So I started super freaking small: added A veggie at dinner and hit play on a 20 minute workout video 3x/wk.
That’s it.…because that’s all I had the bandwidth for.

But those tiny little actions made me feel kinda badass, more energized, STRONG, and I wont lie…HOT.
I made a ton of changes to what I eat over time…and am STILL adjusting to what my body needs now in perimenopause, but I sure did eat a cheeseburger, fries, and a cocktail last night…unapologetically. I didn’t feel guilty or bad about it…because I eat as good as I can the rest of the week.

Mindset and balance are KEY to this…and that is EXACTLY what I teach inside my programs.

Not hiding. Not overthinking. Not constantly “starting over.”

My body was stuck in constant fight or flight. Cortisol through the roof, recovery nonexistent, and I was doing everything "right." Workouts. Clean food. All of it. The problem wasn't what I was doing. It was that I never stopped.

I feel like this describes most women out there.

At the time I went to the doctor, the biggest stressor I thought I had was keeping my daughters engagement a surprise!

Just because you don't perceive you are under stress, doesn't mean you aren't.

And keep in mind our cortisol naturally increases as we age, so don't wait to FEEL stress or SEE that midsection weight gain.

even after all those changes...she still felt like she was “making excuses.”

𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘.
• Layering in another small habit, with a very specific goal and daily action
• Cut autopilot habits (bye daily OJ)
• Added in a 10 min strength 3x/week
• Built a pivot plan for chaotic days so she can still do SOMETHING if chaos takes over

𝐖𝐞 𝐳𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞:
• her actual actions
•her measurable progress
•and that narrative in her head about “making excuses...” it didn’t match the data

I have freaking BEEN THERE.

And not to say I don't get down on myself or think I suck real big from time to time, BUT IT'S NO LONGER MY NORM.

MINDSET is what keeps you self sabotaging or falling off the wagon or even not taking a step back to look at the whole picture to see your next move...instead of just being frustrated and stressed out...and feeling sucky.

Yup… it’s true. And it IS possible!

I’ve been following the same method for 18+ years… and it’s exactly why I’ve been able to keep the weight (and perimenopause symptoms 😅) in check.

Here’s what I did:

worked on my mindset daily (because I was NOT the girl who loved workouts or veggies)
kept it stupid simple:
3 workouts/week (20 min)
added a veggie to dinner 3x/week (yes… corn counted 😅)
built backup plans so I didn’t fall off when life got chaotic
That’s what changed everything.

Because:

I started feeling proud of myself
I felt better physically
I had more energy (and patience 🙃)
So naturally… it snowballed.

More workouts
Better food choices
More consistency

Fast forward to now…

When my body started doing weird perimenopause things at 46, I didn’t panic.

I already had the foundation.

I just made a few tweaks… and kept it movin’.

That framework is now exactly how I coach:
