We are saddened to share the news of Dave's passing, an individual who exemplified the very best of humanity. His extraordinary life was a testament to the power of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Dave's ability to connect with others was unparalleled, and his generosity inspired a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The loss of this remarkable man leaves a profound void, but we find solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace, singing karaoke and dancing in a brighter world.
David Eugene Thompson, 56 of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born in Terre Haute on August 6, 1969 to Eugene Howard Thompson and Rose Mae Milner Thompson.
David was employed at Prime Care Residential Services and was previously employed at ResCare.
David is survived by 2 brothers, Todd Thompson (Billie) and Kenneth Thompson (Brenda), as well as his nieces and nephews; Todd Thompson, Kelsey Thompson, Christian Thompson, Natasha Rodriguez, and Logan Thompson, as well as several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Friends and family may visit and share memories on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen, with burial of his ashes at a later date in Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Illinois.
