Wheat Memorial Clinic is a community-based medical clinic founded in memory of Mollie R. The Clinic serves the dual purpose of providing an educational venue at which students share in the governance and administration of the clinic with Indiana University School of Medicine faculty, staff, and community partners and providing healthcare to individuals who may have barriers to healthcare access. O

ur mission is to educate and prepare future rural healthcare workers in an inter-professional environment by enriching and caring for the underserved population in our community.

Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic had an incredibly successful Oral Cancer Screening & Specialty Care Day! We welcomed 40 patients from across Indiana and surrounding states. Head and neck cancers can often present without symptoms, as seen in Jackie, which is why screening is so important. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide free screenings and cancer-preventing vaccinations, helping improve access to essential care in our community.

Special thanks to Dr. Bahtt, an ENT doctor from Indianapolis, who came to conduct screenings today and make this day possible!

Oral Cancer Screening April 11th Announcement:

We are overjoyed by the incredible response from our community, our oral cancer screening appointment slots are now fully booked! We are excited to serve as many individuals as possible during this event.

At this time, we are no longer accepting additional scheduled appointments. However, walk-ins are still welcome on the day of the clinic. Please note that wait times for walk-ins will be longer due to the high volume of patients and priority for our scheduled appointments.

Due to a community health fair happening at the same time, Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic will be offering a limited clinic day on April 25th from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Landsbaum Center.

During this time, we will provide:
✔ Vaccinations
✔ Point-of-care (POC) testing
✔ Blood pressure screenings

We appreciate your understanding as our services will be more limited than usual that day. We’re still happy to offer these important screenings and hope to see you there!

Head and neck cancer can start without any pain or obvious symptoms until they are in advanced stages. Earlier detection of cancer can improve treatment courses and outcomes. That's why screening is so important.

Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic is offering oral cancer screenings at NO COST for our community on April 11th, 2026 from 8am-12pm. Screenings will be performed by an Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon.
