Winter is one of our favorite seasons! The change in weather and indoor heating can really irritate your skin, causing dryness, redness, and roughness.

1) Banana face pack:
If your face is too dry then you can apply a banana face pack. All you need to do is to mash the bananas add milk, honey, lime juice to them, and apply this on the face.

2) Almond Oil:
Almond oil is extremely beneficial for the skin as it provides the appropriate moisture and maintains a natural glow. You can massage your face with almond oil and leave it overnight for the best results. Use it on a daily basis to get more radiant and glowing skin.

3) Honey and egg white pack
Honey and egg are some of the best ingredients that people are using for ages. They provide the exact moisture to the skin and the end result is soft and glowing skin.

4) Oatmeal and milk
Make a paste of some oatmeal and milk. Apply it on the face, gently rub and let it dry. Then after a few minutes rinse it off. This will remove the dead skin from your face and will make it more glowing and beautiful.

5) Curd
Curd is surprising enough to be on this list. But actually, it can make your skin extraordinarily beautiful and glowing.

6) Cucumber
Cucumber is the best remedy to treat any type of skin problem. It is rich in water content, you can either eat it directly or apply it to the face.

7) Coconut Oil:
All hail the great savior that is coconut oil, for there’s nothing it can’t do – except maybe be used on oily skin types! But for dry and dull skin, coconut oil acts as an excellent moisturizer.

8) Aloe Vera
Aloe vera gel acts as a great moisturizer because of its non-greasy texture and can double as an aftershave too. It also keeps away acne and wrinkles on the skin, helping to keep your skin firm.

9) Milk
Raw milk actually works as a great toner for the skin. Loaded with antioxidants and lactic acid, it helps to even out your complexion and remove dark spots on your face. You can also combine raw milk with ingredients like papaya, honey, almond, turmeric and so on to help your skin glow.

10) Drinking Lots and Lots of Water
Hydrating your skin from within flushes out toxins from your body, clearing out acne by balancing the oils on your face, and also helping to reduce wrinkles. It is recommended that women drink at least 1.5 quarts of water a day.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We hope this season is filled with joy. To whoever you call family, hug them extra tight today.

Gua Sha is a traditional Eastern Asian practice that translates in english to “scraping the pain away”. This practice has been adapted from a full-body vigorously detoxifying treatment to a beautifying relaxing ritual for the face, neck, and decolletage. Healing crystal stones are gently stroked across the skin to encourage lymphatic flow, increase circulation, and smooth + lift the skin.

Seven Benefits Using Gua Sha Stone
1. Lymphatic Drainage
A slow lymph system can cause puffiness, swollen skin, fatigue, acne, and other skin problems. Since lymph circulation is only possible through muscle movement or massage, using a Gua Sha is the best way to increase it.

2. Deals With Cystic Acne
A common misconception is that you cannot use a Gua Sha on acne. The Gua Sha tool helps reduce flare-ups, redness, and the size of acne by moving congestion and improving circulation. Just remember to never use a Gua Sha on broken skin and pustules.

3. Fights Acne Scars
The Gua Sha brings fresh blood to the surface of the skin which renews skin cells, hence reducing the visibility of acne scars.

4. Reduces Puffiness
Since the Gua Sha removes lymph and other fluids from your face, your skin tightens and becomes more chiseled.

5. Say Goodbye To Dark Circles And Dull Complexion
An improved blood circulation results in lesser dark circles and a youthful glow.

6. Softens Wrinkles And Fine Lines
The Gua Sha relaxes your stiff facial muscles and tissues, thus smoothening out aging signs.

7. Contours & Sculpts Jawline And Cheekbones
Consistently scraping the Gua Sha on your face in the correct manner will lead to a defined jawline and cheekbones. Your face will begin to look naturally contoured as time passes by!

Plan a time to spend with your girlfriends. There are many benefits to maintaining strong, authentic friendships with other women. By nature, women can relate to the various challenges we face throughout aging. Don't you want to age gracefully? We only have one life, and knowing other women, is knowing yourself.

Women spend most of their time taking care of other people's needs. Many times our own needs get put on the back burner to get our list done daily. But life is not meant to be spent checking off boxes on a list.

People are dealing with mental health issues related to isolation from their community. After all, we all came from tribal communities that depended on everyone sharing customs and traditions. We have not only lost this ancient wisdom, but we have lost this human connection through modernization. We must find this place again to restore what was lost, and hopefully, leave our children a place that is more balanced to our needs, and our changing world.

Self-Love and Part of Holistic Living

Timeline photos 10/24/2021

How do you give yourself self-care? Maybe you feel that you simply just don't have time to devote to yourself. This is simply the wrong way to approach wellness. This time has to be carved out by you and given priority. When you live in a healthy body and mindset, you can live a life that is full of all the things that are most important to you. Remembering a hobby or long-lost talent, reading a book, burning your favorite candle, listening to music, or just sitting in silence can be ways that you give self-care. It is important to claim this time because it is part of holistic wellness.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! The rich vitamin C content of citrus fruits can effectively fight the free radical action, which prevents skin aging. The citric acid present in the citrus fruits helps curb the bacterial action and pathogens present under the skin, which helps your skin glow naturally.

According to an article at NCBI, "The peel of Citrus reticulata Blanco is traditionally used as tonic, stomachic, astringent, and carminative. It is also useful in skincare. The study showed that methanolic extract (Soxhlation) exhibited promising antioxidant and anti-enzymatic activity and can be used as a potent anti-wrinkle agent in anti-aging skin care formulations".

Family genetics can play a role in your skin health and overall physical and mental health. It is important to be mindful of any medical family history that might affect you. It is also important to talk to family members about what worked for them managing conditions and what did not work. It is important to have any skin issue looked at and monitor any changes in your skin.
According to Penn Medicine University, "Patients with genetic diseases affecting the skin may or may not be aware of these inherited conditions. Skin problems may range from minor to extremely complex.
Some of these inherited conditions may include:
Basal cell nevus syndrome or Gorlin syndrome – a rare genetic condition that involves the skin, nervous system, eyes, bone structure and endocrine glands with risks of numerous basal cell carcinomas and jaw cysts.

Muir-Torre syndrome – a hereditary condition characterized by sebaceous tumors of the skin and the potential for developing internal malignancies, most often colon cancer.

Cowden syndrome – a rare, inherited condition that causes multiple benign tumor-like growths and increased risk for breast, thyroid, and uterine cancers. Common characteristics include enlarged head size and trichilemmomas on the skin, face, hands, mouth, and mucous membranes.

Tuberous sclerosis – a genetic disorder that affects the skin, brain and nervous system, kidneys, and heart. Collagenomas, ash leaf macules, and angiofibromas are common skin findings.

Neurofibromatosis – a genetic disorder of the nervous system and skin. The disease is characterized by findings that include café au lait macules, axillary freckling, and numerous neurofibroms.

Gardner syndrome – a rare, genetic disorder characterized by multiple polyps in the colon, extra teeth, bony tumors of the skull and fatty cysts, and/or fibrous tumors in the skin".
