Your sensitivity and intuition is a gift, yet sometimes it can feel overwhelming because we live in a world that is constantly trying to distract us and tell us otherwise. The noise of the media, and constant stream of information can keep us in fight or flight mode and hypervigalent.
It’s important to maintain your inner balance to stay steady in the face of your own life stressors and the collective heaviness and tension. Because honestly, it can be exhausting when you feel like a sponge picking up everybody else’s emotions.
You might feel drained, irritable, anxious, or moody. The crazy thing is sometimes we are not aware we are picking up on other people’s emotions and vibes, and we end up taking on their stuff.  The energy around us cannot be underrated!
Staying centered and aware will  help you tune into your own inner knowing and distinguish your emotions from the emotions of others.
Here are some things you can do to soothe and reset. Nothing earth shattering here, only reminders that simplicity coupled with  a consistent daily routine can give you the relief you are looking for.

🌟 Physical movement 🏃♀️
I know, sounds obvious, right?) Doesn’t have to be all or nothing though, no need to complicate it.
If you only have a few minutes to take a short walk, do a few yoga poses, stretch, or a quick workout that is enough!  Something is always better than nothing.
🌟 4-2-4 Breathing: 😮💨
Inhale for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 2 seconds
Exhale for 4 seconds
Repeat this breathing cycle for a minute or two, or until you feel calmer🧘🕊️
🌟 Laughter 😆
 The saying that it is the best medicine is more than accurate.  Listening to your favorite comedian, sharing a laugh with your favorite person/people, or watching something funny can do help you feel rejuvenated.
🌟 Water 💦
 Drink water, splash cold water on your face, or take a bath or shower.  If you are able to go for a swim, that’s great too.
🌟 Hugging 🫂 a loved one or snuggling with your pet 🐶 🐱
🌟 Music 🎶
You already know listening to whatever you are in the mood for, can totally shift your mood!
