Prenatal massage is generally considered safe and beneficial for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy. When performed by a trained and experienced therapist there is no significant risk of harm to mother or child. There is actually little difference from regular massage, other than positioning and adapting techniques in certain areas.
Women's bodies have evolved to be the ideal vessel for a growing child, so please help combat tales of prenatal massage work being anything less than the best self-care for an expectant mom.
It is always best to consult with a healthcare provider before getting a massage during pregnancy if you have any complications or high-risk factors.
