“Forget militant exercise. Just get active and feel the difference” (INTUITIVE EATING. Tribole and Resch. 2020). Your Four States Doulas want to encourage you to remember that there is no body to “get back” after Baby arrives. Be gentle and kind with yourself. Movement should bring you joy. If that is running, then run. If it’s dancing, then dance. What brings you joy?

Thanks to Benjamin Franklin, most of the US observes Daylight Savings. While you (hopefully) sleep tonight, at 2 am, the artificial light saving concept ends until the spring. You will gain an hour of sleep but may feel “off” while your internal clock adjusts. Might we suggest more water consumption instead of more caffeine to help? Drinking water upon waking helps with digestion and metabolism too!

Our Story

Four States Doulas is a collective of individual doulas and other birth-related service professionals. While researching local doulas for one of her former students, Doula Jaimee discovered that there were almost no doulas in the Ark-La-Tex. She also found that there was a strong desire to have this resource for all families. Circumstances started to fall into place with all of the signs pointing Jaimee and her husband, Chad, to finally make their long-desired trek to return “home” to Texarkana.

Jaimee and Chad started making connections with professionals in the birth community while simultaneously preparing their home in Plano for sale. Within just a few months, they were on their way back home and had gathered a Tribe of women ready to serve their communities. Check out our Sisterhood page to meet our doulas.
