This is an amazing training for anyone that works with or is raising a child from hard places. We highly encourage you to register and attend.

For the Sake of One will provide its biannual Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) training March 13-14 at Heritage Church, 5801 N Kings Hwy in Texarkana, Texas.

TBRI is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. The model uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles to address attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.

The two-day training schedule is:

Friday, March 13: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, March 14: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Attendees must be present both days to complete the training. Organizers said snacks will be provided during training, with dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday.

Texas and Arkansas educators will receive 9.5 CPE hours, while social workers and counselors can receive 9.5 CEUs.

Registration is $35. Foster parents, kinship caregivers, adoptive parents, and DCFS/DFPS case workers may attend at no cost.

"Beyond the help provided, we now know that our children’s participation in the household’s daily chores is beneficial for their development."

Does your child have chores at home? If so, comment and let us know what they are responsible for.

Reasons why kids should have chores: age-appropriate tasks benefit children's cognitive, social, academic, and emotional development.

Parenting has a way of holding up a mirror.

The impatience.
The triggers.
The old wounds we thought were behind us.
The habits we picked up without even realising.

Children bring it all to the surface.

And in that moment, we have a choice.
We can try to control them…
or we can start working on ourselves.

Because every bit of self-awareness, every pattern we break, every reaction we learn to regulate, changes more than just our own life.

It changes the environment they grow up in.
And that change doesn’t stop with them.

The work we do on ourselves today
becomes the inheritance of the generations that follow. ❤️

Teaching children how to apologize is about so much more than saying “I’m sorry.” 💛 It’s about helping them build empathy, take responsibility, and repair relationships.

When we teach kids how to offer a genuine apology, we’re teaching them to recognize how their actions affect others. We’re helping them slow down, reflect, and choose humility over defensiveness. A meaningful apology includes understanding what happened, expressing regret, and making things right when possible. These are lifelong skills that strengthen friendships, family bonds, and future workplace relationships.

As adults, we can model this by apologizing to our children when we make mistakes. When kids see us take responsibility, they learn that apologizing isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of strength and emotional maturity.

Let’s raise children who know how to repair, not just react. ❤️
