Approximately 60% of my Kambo clients are coming to find relief from depression or anxiety, or both. Those clients who are on some form of psychotropics will tell me that the only thing they want is to get off of such meds. They often use language such as, โthe meds make me feel dead insideโ or โI just want to be able to feel something again. Joy, sadness, anything.โ
Anti-depressants, for some people, can absolutely give their life back. However, did you know that new research shows that a brain imaging scan is needed to determine or predict how the anti-depressants may affect someone? Why is this important? If someone is not clinically depressed but just going through a tough time, anti-depressants can be detrimental to long-term mental health. Unfortunately, Pharmaceutical companies push their products on mental health professionals to sell to their clients for a commission. These medications are meant to be short-term, but the tragedy is that once a person is on such meds, they are typically on them for life. When the patient is ready to stop taking them, it can take months or even years to โween offโ as the withdrawals are excruciating.
More often than not, natural or alternative medicine is a viable remedy for those suffering from depression or anxiety without all the adverse side effects accompanying mainstream anti-depressants. Those aware of this knowledge will often turn to plant or amphibian medicine as a first resort, along with lifestyle changes in diet and exercise, only turning to pharmaceutical meds as a last resort. Groundbreaking research is being carried out in universities worldwide, showing the efficacy and benefits of plant and amphibian medicine as they correlate to mental health.
