Many children with autism experience and express emotions differently. Understanding emotions — both their own and others’ — can sometimes be challenging, but with support, children can learn important social and emotional skills.

Children with autism may:
🔹 Have difficulty recognizing facial expressions or body language
🔹 Struggle to explain how they are feeling
🔹 Become overwhelmed by big emotions
🔹 Need extra support with coping skills and transitions

Therapists can help children learn to:
💙 Identify emotions
💙 Express feelings in healthy ways
💙 Recognize social cues
💙 Build confidence in social situations
💙 Develop calming and coping strategies

Through play, visuals, routines, and encouragement, children can grow in their understanding of emotions and communication skills. Every child learns differently, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated! 🌟
