The aroma of freshly popped popcorn filled the air as the residents prepared for chef’s corner in making popcorn balls. This event brought up memories of the upcoming holidays with family gathering . They shared memories of the county fair, Halloween, and carnivals.. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as the residents prepare for the Stonegate Holiday Art Contest! ⛄🎄They were lost in reveries while listening to soft Christmas music and afterward they socialized while sampling the taste of the holidays with a sweet treat. 😊😋

We have had some exciting events this month that focused on the dimensions of wellness; We have one resident that continues to pursue his hobby of gardening weekly. He enjoys watering the flowers and herbal garden. In artwork class the residents enjoyed a moment of relaxation coloring as soft music was played. Hobbies are treasured moment that we engage in and often fades with time but not here. Mr. Young played drums in a band for many years and continues to play when the monthly band performs. The table is his drums, and he doesn’t miss a beat. He steals the show with his performance!! 🎶💙🌱

One of the local motorcycle club "Crossroad Drifters" stopped by to brighten the resident’s day. There was much excitement when they arrived on those beautiful bikes. Each resident received a loveable teddy bear as a token of their affection from each club member. One resident was so excited that he shared memories of riding his bike with them. His room is decorated in motorcycles. Hugs, smiles, and kisses will be treasured by each resident in years to come. Thank you, Josh Dyer, for your unwavering support in bring this event to the facility. July open with our travel club destination Washington D.C. We took a virtual tour of Washington D.C with a retired history teacher as the tour guide. While there we stopped by a tropical café and was spoiled by Heritage Hospice in providing fruity mocktails. This certainly cooled us down. During chef’s corner the residents made edible American flags. Our retired teacher provided history of the flag. We celebrated the 4th of July with a band and the party ended with a bang! ❤️🤍💙

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July! ❤️🤍💙

June opened this month with exciting events that focused on the great outdoors. During the travel club we took a virtual trip to some the national parks. During chef’s corner the residents enjoyed making trail mix while sharing memories of visiting national parks. During body works class the residents enjoyed listening to the sounds of the ocean while working out. Mr. Don Rankins serenaded us under the Starry night as we took a virtual tour of the national park in Utah. The sensory work program Seek and Find was a fun adventure as the resident took a trip to the ocean where they identified different species that are found in the ocean. One resident shared his experience in deep sea fishing and scuba diving . There was a race to chef’s corner as the resident decorated cupcakes with race cars on top of them and everyone met at the finish line. There were facts shared on men’s health and the importance of yearly checkups during a wellness program. .Caleb Sam Brown serenaded us with country classic music while we set around the campfire . This event brought back fond memories. Caleb was here visiting his uncle, and a 3-generation family picture was taken. Our father’s will be honored this Friday with a Fish Fry and live entertainment. On Saturday there will be an outdoors motorcycle event. Exciting times! 🌟🎉
