Tuesday was game day at Hospice of Texarkana / Hospice of Hope! Competition was stiff and the teams worked hard to win! As one team was exiting the building, their cheers make these events so worthwhile; "WE WON, WE WON, AND WE HAD FUN"! Special thanks to the teams from Cornerstone Retirement Community, Asher Point Independent Living of Texarkana, Winfield Estates, Brookdale Texarkana, and Bailey Creek Health and Rehabilitation for attending. We are so glad you came out to participate.

HOW IS SOMEONE REFERRED TO HOSPICE AND HOW IS CARE PAID FOR?

Referrals to hospice can be made by the provider, patient, or family. A home visit to discuss hospice is a good way to receive information on making this decision. For referrals made by the patient, family, or community, the patient’s provider is contacted for records and notification of care goals. Medicaid and most private insurances offer hospice benefits, and hospices also have courtesy care for patients who are uninsured.
