Having shown you the size of the inside of the new store, I thought I’d show you the outside where the Nassau Bay Farmers Market will be. As you can see, it’s huge. We’ll be able to substantially increase the size of the market, and we’re looking for organic gardeners/farmers and producers of grass-fed beef and free-range chickens. We’re going to maintain our status as an organic market with primarily agricultural offerings, but we’ll also consider gluten-free, Keto and Paleo bakers, organic kombucha, and other hand made products that enable us to be a unique place to spend your Saturday mid-days. We’ll also have at least one food truck. We want our market to be a nutritious, interesting and fun experience, and if you have suggestions for who/what you’d like to see us include, please let me know.

Food Logging 101:

At this point, you should know the importance of weighing in grams and ounces if you track macros. Cups and tablespoons are an incredibly poor an immaculate type of measurement.

It gets tricky when you’re trying to weigh things like peanut butter, or avocado. It can be downright annoying. But the subtraction method makes things EASY PEASY. This allows you to simply subtract from beginning measurement to ending measurement for 100% accuracy. (This works VERY well for peanut butter jars, too, friends).
•
1. Half your avocado, discard the pit. Put it on the scale. (See left). Then core it, scoop it out. and put it on whatever you’re eating. For me this afternoon, it was eggs.
2. Return it to the scale. From here, find the difference. Search an entry in your food logging software (I use MFP) that allows you to change the serving size to grams. Then enter your serving size.

I HATE when I see people logging “1/2 avocado.” Like, seriously? Have you seen the difference between various avocados?! That could literally be hundreds of calories. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Use this method for peanut butter, too. Nothing breaks my heart more than seeing “1 tablespoon of peanut butter” logged in a clients journal.
