Responsibilities Include:
• Performing physical exams & patient observations.
• Recording symptoms
• Creating patient care plans & contributing to the existing ones.
• Ordering, administering, & analyzing diagnostic tests.
• Monitoring & operating medical equipment.
• Diagnosing health issues.
• Ordering medications/treatments.
• Detecting changes in patient’s health & modifying treatment, as needed.
• Consulting w/healthcare professionals and families.
• Training patients & families to manage & prevent illness & injury.
Qualifications Needed:
• Master’s degree from accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state
& board-certified by either ANCC or AANP.
• APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in
family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Prescriptive authorization.
• Experience providing primary care as a family nurse practitioner.
• Proficiency w/medical instruments & equipment required to
perform your work.
• Knowledge of computer-based data mgmt. programs &
information systems, as well as medical records & point-of-view
technology.
• A sound understanding of all pertinent federal & state
regulations, including HIPAA & OSHA.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Knowledge of disease prevention.
