Dr. Luke Brog is proud to call Star Valley home. Growing up on a dairy farm in Freedom, Wyoming, he learned the value of hard work and community early on. After graduating from Star Valley High School as a member of the National Honor Society, he attended Idaho State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society.
Luke went on to pursue his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University, graduating with honors in 2005. While there, he joined the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and earned the Phi Theta Upsilon Outstanding Research Design Award for his thesis on fixation disparity.
His training didn’t stop there. Dr. Brog received hands-on experience at Teplick Surgery Centers in Oregon, providing care for LASIK, PRK, and cataract patients. He also completed additional training at the Eye Institute of Utah and the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, where he focused on eye disease management, surgical co-management, and specialty contact lens fitting.
In 2005, Dr. Brog returned to Star Valley to open his practice with one goal: to provide the best eye care possible—close to home. He takes pride in offering state-of-the-art technology and advanced procedures so patients don’t have to travel far for quality care. He is certified and experienced in many in-office treatments, including treating abrasions, removing foreign bodies and skin tags, and performing selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and YAG capsulotomies.
Always committed to learning, Dr. Brog completed advanced surgical training at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in 2018. Since then, he has performed hundreds of in-office procedures, helping patients receive comprehensive care without leaving the valley.
Outside the exam room, Dr. Brog has been an active voice for his profession. He served on Wyoming’s legislative committee to help expand the scope of optometric care in the state and later shared his expertise as a speaker at the Wyoming Optometric Association’s winter conferences in 2022 and 2023.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Brog enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and giving back to the community that shaped him.
