BOLD Cancer Wellness Program, the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center

On Tuesday, July 29th, one of our BOLD Buddy sisters, Elisabeth Mbeleck Bikoko, was released from her physical body. Elisabeth had struggled with physical health challenges over the past several years that limited her interaction with the outside world, including the role she cherished as a Buddy. She shared how much pride she took in helping other patients who came up to her at the oncology clinic welcome table. Just weeks before she passed, she got to see her son in his cap and gown following his graduation from Wesleyan College with a degree in computer science.

In this sad moment, may we all fondly remember her big heart, strong spirit, resilience, and deep dedication to being a force for good for other patients and her children. What a gift to have her join us for our appreciation party in December 2022.

May her memory be a blessing. ❤

Thrilled to have Council Member Kristy Marmorato visit with our Montefiore/Einstein Cancer Center’s community advisory board meeting on July 17th We discussed how to increase and enhance breast cancer screening for the Bronx community and were delighted to glean from CM Kristy’s years of professional experience in breast screening.  With CM Kristy‘s support and partnership, we look forward to a very health enhancing October. Stay tuned. 💝🎀

Last week, we said goodbye to our amazing Study Coordinator, Arjeta! We're so proud of her as she heads off to medical school. From her work in Community Outreach and Engagement to the Albanian Taskforce and beyond- her impact was felt everywhere. Best of luck on this exciting journey!
