Farenga Brothers Funeral Home has been locally and independently owned for 5 generations. The Farenga family began directing funerals in 1896.

Salvatore Farenga grew up in the East Harlem community and worked in funeral service with his family for many years. We quickly became known for our integrity and desire to help those in need. In 1957 Farenga Bros. Funeral Home moved to the Eastchester section of the Bronx. Since then the funeral home at 920 Allerton Avenue has been expanded, renovated, and continues to stand as a mainstay in the community. Now in the 5th generation of the Farenga family, Sal Anthony and his brother Nick have continued the family legacy of providing lasting tributes and have followed their father and grandfather’s example of becoming deeply involved in the community. Creating an atmosphere of trust and serving with the highest level of respect and dignity is our highest priority.

Do I need to pre-plan if I already have life insurance?

While you may have life insurance, the reimbursement a surviving family member receives isn’t always an option for funeral expenses. Even if you have a policy in place, your loved ones may not receive the reimbursement in time, or it may not cover the full amount, leaving them to pay out-of-pocket for final arrangements.
