The Veterans recently enjoyed a “Photography 101” class with the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, where they learned about cyanotype photography — one of the earliest photo processes known for its beautiful blue tones. Each Veteran even created their own unique cyanotype print to take home! Everyone had a great time experimenting and learning something new!

Residents and staff had a blast shooting hoops together during our recent basketball game! The friendly competition brought out lots of smiles, laughter, and team spirit — proof that a little exercise and fun go a long way at OVH!

Our Autumn Tea Tasting was a cozy celebration of the season! Residents enjoyed sampling a variety of flavorful teas paired with sweet treats and good company. It was the perfect way to warm up and share conversation on a crisp fall afternoon.

The Oregon Veterans' Home had a wonderful time at our annual campout at Camp Morrow! This year, we took two groups camping, and they had a blast! Residents and their families enjoyed the water, fished, savored delicious meals, and engaged in many other activities.

This trip holds special significance for our residents, and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of OVH and Camp Morrow staff.

This activity was funded through donations to the Oregon Veteran Home - The Dalles. Thank you to all who have donated to make this happen!

Things got delightfully wacky at OVH for Mad Hatter Day! Staff and residents showed off their most creative, colorful, and crazy hats while enjoying games, treats, and laughter all around. A fun reminder that a little silliness can brighten any day!

We had a tail-wagging good time at our Pretty Puppies Event here at OVH! Residents got to meet (and spoil!) some adorable pups — complete with treats, cuddles, and plenty of smiles all around.

Three Oregon Veterans Home residents had the incredible opportunity to participate in Dream Flights this weekend. It was a beautiful day filled with sunshine, laughter, and memories that will last forever.

Family, friends, and staff gathered to cheer them on as they took to the skies with the amazing Dream Flights Team. Each flight was smooth, special, and such a meaningful way to honor their service.

A heartfelt thank you to Dream Flights for giving these Veterans this unforgettable experience!

This week we brought “A Taste of Mexico” to the Oregon Veterans Home—complete with margaritas, street tacos, horchata, chips & salsa, lively music, and colorful decorations! Residents, staff, and families all came together to enjoy the fiesta, and it was truly a celebration to remember. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us—you helped make it such a joyful and fun-filled event!
