We believe in a resident-centered approach, with emphasis on personal attention and continuity of care. We offer a highly skilled, on-site Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, and a team of physica

l, occupational and speech therapists. Columbia Basin offers clean and comfortable private and semi-private rooms, and a beautiful courtyard and large park in which to gather and relax. Columbia Basin Care is fully staffed to offer intensive, long-term medical assistance to those with serious health and dementia conditions, as well as short-term rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or illness.

Time to celebrate! Columbia Basin Care hosted a Meet & Mingle event to celebrate and introduce our newest team members that have joined us over the course of the summer. It was a wonderful opportunity for residents, staff and community members to enjoy each others company to some good music and good food!

This week our Environmental Services Director, Tristan Sheppard, who is a volunteer Fire Fighter, trained staff on how to fight an active fire as part of our emergency preparedness training. At Columbia Basin Care, we place great emphasis on every employee knowing what to do in an emergency situation.
This training was informative and fun! We all got to feel like heroes for a minute after putting out the fire! Thank you to Mid Columbia Fire Rescue for letting us use some of your training equipment!

The asphalt was sizzling with these temperatures but we were marching along handing out water, making sure to help you all stay hydrated!

This week, some of our residents travelled to Portland to visit the Zoo. The day was warm but mostly overcast - perfect for us! Summer is the perfect time for day trips and scenic drives. Wonder where the next trip will take us?

This year Columbia Basin Care took part in the Cherry Festival and we had so much fun decorating and being in the parade! Each year, our residents love to watch the colorful floats go by, and it was even more special to see a float they knew. was kind enough to donate water for us to hand out - hydration is important no matter how old you are!
Should we join the 4th of July parade this year, too? We might have gotten the parade fever!
