Bridge work reminder, ODOT continues construction on The Dalles Bridge and the Highway 197 overpass over I-84 through the end of September. This may cause lane closures and travel delays, especially when heading to or from our Water’s Edge Medical Clinic. According to ODOT, most work is scheduled to wrap up by 6:00 a.m., but occasional delays may extend later into the morning.

Our pediatric care units at Adventist Health White Memorial and Rainbow Children's Center were filled with cheer as Mena Suvari joined us to deliver happiness to children from our community, sharing toys, reading stories, and spreading joy.

Mena, a leading actress, producer, and longtime supporter and ambassador of Starlight Children's Foundation, is a true champion of children, especially those in underserved communities. Starlight Children's Foundation and Mena emphasized the importance of delivering happiness through play, a vital component of a hospitalized child's healing and overall well-being beyond recreation.

Through her generous spirit and ongoing philanthropic work, Mena reminds us that hope grows when we come together to care for those in need, building brighter futures, one joyful moment at a time.

After Robert Hudson was struck by a car two years ago, he was given the devastating news that he would never play the bass again. With his arm shattered, ribs broken, and a rod placed in his leg, Robert was transferred to the Acute Physical Rehab unit at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial.

During his month stay, Robert said he was showered with love and care from the APR staff. “I had an amazing experience here. I couldn't have asked for a better team,” Robert said. “Any needs that I had; they took care of them. The professionalism was great.”

Robert worked closely with recreational therapist Julie Sum, doing daily activities to improve his mental and physical abilities. And despite being told by a previous clinician that we would never play bass again, Robert had a goal. “I told Julie once I got healed up that I would come back and bring some musicians."

Robert kept his promise. “It took a little while, but I made it back," he said. And on a Friday afternoon, now fully healed and mobile, Robert and a group of talented musicians played an incredible jazz and R&B set for the current APR patients.

From being a past patient to now serving as an inspiration to current ones, Robert said he was elated to share the love that he had received from the team here. "I am so thankful to this hospital. The love that they showed me, I can't even put into words.”
