What if understanding your Alzheimer’s risk wasn’t about waiting for symptoms but identifying changes in your brain years in advance?

Amyloid beta testing measures levels of a protein associated with plaque buildup in the brain, one of the earliest biological markers linked to cognitive decline. Today, advanced testing can detect these changes earlier, offering valuable insight into your future brain health and potential risk.

Early insight can make a difference in planning for your long term health. Amyloid beta testing, either alone or combined with pTau, provides a window into the biological changes that can occur before noticeable symptoms arise — giving you the opportunity to take action sooner.

Awareness Week is a reminder that quality sleep is one of the most powerful tools for protecting your brain.

Most Americans get less than seven hours of sleep per night — far below what our brains need to perform optimally. While you sleep, your brain isn’t resting; it’s actively clearing harmful proteins, consolidating memories, and strengthening neural connections. Chronic sleep loss doesn’t just affect focus or memory; it slows metabolism, weakens the immune system, accelerates aging, and increases long-term risk for cognitive decline.

Small, consistent habits can make a meaningful difference. Prioritize a regular sleep schedule, minimize screens before bed, stay active during the day, and create a calm, dark environment for rest.

💡 Sleep Challenge: Commit to improving one aspect of your sleep tonight. Over time, this simple yet profound step can enhance clarity, energy, memory, and safeguard your brain for the years ahead.

🥝 This small fruit may be doing far more for your cells than you realize.

Research shows that eating kiwi can significantly impact cellular health in just weeks — increasing skin density, improving epidermal regeneration, and helping reduce oxidative stress and DNA damage.

Kiwi is packed with vitamin C, fiber, and polyphenols, nutrients that support antioxidant defenses and help protect the body and brain from cellular damage.

At Aviv Clinics, we emphasize the power of nutrition and nourishing the body with foods rich in antioxidants and essential micronutrients that support long-term brain health.

Try adding 1–3 kiwis a day to increase vitamin C intake, improve digestion, and support your body’s natural DNA repair processes.

Small daily habits can support healthier aging from the inside out.

Muscle does so much more than move your body; it actively protects your future brain.

Every time you exercise, your muscles release powerful signaling molecules called myokines that communicate directly with your brain. These signals help increase BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor), a key factor in growing new neurons, strengthening connections, and protecting memory.

Exercise also helps lower inflammation — one of the major drivers of aging and cognitive decline — while increasing blood flow, delivering more oxygen and essential nutrients that keep brain cells functioning at their best.

This is why people with more lean muscle mass consistently show:
• Sharper memory and focus
• Better emotional regulation
• Lower risk of cognitive decline

And after age 30, muscle naturally declines if we don’t work to maintain it, accelerating metabolic changes, frailty, and loss of independence.

If you want more years lived strong, independent, and fully functional, building and protecting muscle is non-negotiable. Prioritize regular movement and strength training.

Finding physical activities that you enjoy not only makes exercise sustainable, it maximizes the benefits for both your body and your brain. Whether it’s walking, dancing, pickleball, or weightlifting, consistent movement can help support memory, focus, and overall cognitive performance — no matter your age.

Good news for coffee and tea drinkers: your daily habit may actually be protecting your brain and supporting cognitive function!

A large, decades-long study found that adults who drank 2–3 cups of caffeinated coffee per day had a lower risk of developing dementia. Moderate tea consumption showed similar benefits, while decaf did not — highlighting caffeine itself as a key factor.

While this research shows an association, not cause and effect, it reinforces an important point: regular caffeine intake may be a part of a brain-healthy lifestyle. Daily choices to support balanced nutrition, vascular health, sleep, exercise and mental engagement, can work together to help preserve long-term brain health.

What if aging isn’t just something we accept, but something we can measure, target, and meaningfully improve?

For decades, aging has been viewed as inevitable decline. But emerging research shows that biological aging happens at the cellular level, and that it may be more dynamic than we once believed.

Two key markers of biological aging include:

• Telomeres — protective caps at the end of your DNA that naturally shorten as we age
• Senescent cells — often called “zombie cells,” which accumulate over time and contribute to inflammation and tissue dysfunction

In a groundbreaking study, a specific hyperbaric oxygen therapy protocol was shown to increase telomere length and reduce senescent cells. That means the intervention didn’t just slow aging markers, it reversed them.

This matters because cellular aging influences everything from cognitive clarity and energy levels to physical performance and resilience. When we improve the health of cells, we improve the function of the tissues and organs they make up, including the brain.

At Aviv, our comprehensive program can combine our unique HBOT protocol with targeted cognitive training, physical conditioning, and personalized nutrition support, all guided by advanced diagnostics to measure real change.

Aging is complex. But science is showing us it may also be modifiable. The question is no longer if we age — it’s how well we age, and what we’re doing about it.

Cognitive resilience is the brain’s ability to adapt, stay sharp under stress, and recover from challenges over time.

It plays a critical role in focus, memory, decision-making, and emotional regulation, especially during periods of prolonged stress or cognitive demand.

A recent study found that structured cognitive training led to significant improvements in cognitive resilience and performance in U.S. military service members.

Notably, the study utilized BrainHQ, a cognitive training platform that is incorporated into Aviv’s comprehensive program. At Aviv, this cognitive training is personalized and can be integrated alongside advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy protocols, physical training, and nutrition coaching to support meaningful, long-term brain change.

The research reinforces a powerful concept: the brain is capable of change when challenged in the right way.
