WBV is feeling grateful for our IL Programming team after last week’s celebrations! ✨

Sunny, April, and Michael are the ones who keep the day moving in all the right ways, with thought and effort. They really have a knack for making people feel included. When something feels worth showing up for, it’s usually because they were intentional. They set it up, and made sure everyone had a place in it.

We dialed the clock back to the Roaring 20’s and turned WBV into a Casino with fabulous games and music. Our residents jumped in as players (and a few as helpful “dealers”), sipped specialty pistachio martinis and enjoyed Chef Steve’s delicious bites in-between.

When Joanne Donovan kicked off the live music, the dance floor filled up fast! Thanks to everyone who joined us for this sparkling night! 🍸🎶✨

Join us in celebrating our November AND December Servant Leaders of the Month at Watercrest Buena Vista: two associates who live their core values in ways you can feel!

November’s Servant Leader: Sunny Bard 🌟
“We all are made in the image and likeness of God, and God is love. Therefore, we are love.” Sunny shared that this belief guides how she cares for residents and supports the team, with warmth and respect. Her director adds that Sunny brings joy and positive energy every day, treats everyone with kindness, and shows genuine compassion in the way she cares for our residents.

December’s Servant Leader: Lis Santiago 🌟
“I chose Empathy as my core value because it shapes how I understand and connect with the world around me.” Lis shared that empathy helps her “look beyond my own perspective to build stronger relationships and make compassionate, inclusive decisions.” Her director sees it in the daily moments saying: Lis is always willing to help, offers support even when she’s busy, shares her knowledge, and makes sure her teammates feel heard and valued!

It was a busy week at Watercrest Buena Vista! We celebrated a triple header of holidays: , , and !

Our residents showed off their creativity and embraced healthy living by participating in new exercises. A huge shoutout goes to our Get Active Coach, Michael, and Carola from Empower ME, who worked together as a fantastic team to keep everyone active and motivated.

We wrapped up the week with a celebratory Happy Hour, where awards were given out to recognize everyone’s participation and enthusiasm! ❄️🏆

Yaxiel Colon-Valentin, Aland Walters, Ariel Sparkman, Elsie Desire, Kylee Story, Wayne Carson, and Valeri Morales Olivares are marking another year with us. "Hats off" to another great day at Watercrest Buena Vista! 🎩

Our Independent Living residents pulled out all the stops for , showing off their most creative and fun headwear. Plus, Tom Anthony provided the perfect soundtrack.

We topped off the celebration with a festive hat-themed cake and a very warm welcome for our newest resident, who jumped right into the fun with us! 🍰🎶

We turned the community upside down for ! WBV's Independent Living residents had a BLAST scouring the halls in a massive scavenger hunt throughout the building.

We hid ducks everywhere, and the competition was on. While there was a prize for the top hunter, the best part was just the fun and teamwork. It was not about winning, but rather the memories we made while tracking down each little rubber duck! 🦆

It's a new year, with new neighbors, and plenty of reasons to celebrate at Watercrest Buena Vista! We turned our New Year’s party into a warm welcome for our newest residents, and the energy in the room was incredible!

Paula Baker had everyone singing along, and between the dancing, the cake, and the champagne toasts, you could just feel the joy in the air. It was the perfect start to 2026 and a sweet reminder of how special our community really is. Thanks to everyone who joined us! 🥂🎶✨
