Lake Centre for Rehab was proud to participate in this year’s Moving Day fundraiser for Parkinson’s! 💙

A huge thank you to our amazing LCR volunteers who showed up, walked together as a team, and supported individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. We’re honored to be part of such a meaningful event and inspiring community.

Together, an incredible $144,208 was raised - reaching 120% of the fundraising goal! 🎉

And thankfully, the rain held off just in time for the walk!

Lake Centre for Rehab is proud to support The Villages Charter School’s free annual athletic screenings on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at The Villages Charter High School.

This important event helps local middle and high school student-athletes complete the screenings required by the state of Florida, while also giving back to families in our community. It’s a great opportunity to support student health, school athletics, and our local schools.

Don’t let an injury be your March upset. 🏀
Basketball demands quick cuts, explosive jumps, and constant contact — which means ankles, knees, and backs take a hit.
Before soreness turns into something that sidelines you, take a proactive approach:
✔️ Warm up with intention
✔️ Strengthen the right muscle groups
✔️ Address small issues early
Prevention is the best defense. If something doesn’t feel right, let a PT take a look before it becomes a bigger problem.

We loved spending time with the Parkinson’s Support Group at the Bradenton Recreation Center inThe Villages, Florida's Friendliest Hometown. 💙

Our team members Makinsey Holt, MA, CCC-SLP, and Cheryl Harris, PT, had the chance to share about some of the often-overlooked parts of Parkinson’s care. Makinsey talked through ways to help with speech clarity, voice changes, and swallowing safety, while Cheryl shared more about the physical challenges that can come with Parkinson’s and how programs like LSVT BIG can help people move with more confidence.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, answer questions, and be part of such a welcoming and supportive community conversation.

Thank you to the support group leaders and everyone who joined us — and a big shoutout to Makinsey and Cheryl for representing Lake Centre for Rehab so well!

Lake Centre For Rehab is a Medicare-certified provider of outpatient Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services with locations in The Villages, Leesburg, and Mt. Dora, Florida. Our therapists provide rehabilitative and preventative services in a supportive environment to maintain, or improve your functionality and well-being. Our well-equipped facilities contain free weights, exercise machines, private therapy areas, and open space for aerobic exercise. Our individualized treatment plans are designed by our experienced therapists with YOU, to help you achieve your goals.
