Theraputty + tiny treasures = powerful little hands 💪✨

In pediatric OT, we hide small items in theraputty to turn strengthening into play. As kids dig, pinch, pull, and stretch to find each piece, they’re building hand strength, improving fine motor control, and boosting finger dexterity—all while having fun. Stronger hands mean more independence with skills like writing, buttoning, and cutting! There are different levels of resistance with theraputty, so you can challenge your child by increasing the level of resistance  💪

In therapy, we build speech skills using what your child already loves—favorite toys, shows, or even a fun book like Lego astronauts! 🚀

Kids are more motivated (and talk more!) when they’re engaged, which helps speech carry over into real-life conversations—not just practice.

At home, you can help by:

- Talking about their favorites 🚂
- Modeling sounds naturally 🗣️
- Keeping it fun and pressure-free ✨

When learning feels like play, progress follows. 😊

Bad posture in children isn’t just a phase—it can impact their comfort, focus, and long-term development. Encouraging proper sitting habits early makes a big difference!

One simple and effective activity: have your child sit on a wedge cushion while playing with their favorite toy. The slight tilt naturally promotes better posture, core engagement, and body awareness—without it feeling like “work.”

Small changes now can build strong habits for life 💪

Little hands, big skills in the making 👶✨

Pulling large beads off a string is more than just play. As a toddler reaches across their body to grab each bead, they’re practicing crossing midline, an essential skill for coordinated movement and brain development.

This simple activity helps strengthen bilateral coordination, encourages use of both sides of the body, and supports future skills like dressing, feeding, and even handwriting. Large thick beads are perfect for building grasp strength and fine motor control.

Play with purpose, one bead at a time 🩵

Happy Better Speech & Hearing Month from our crew! 💙🗣️👂

We wear many hats…therapist, cheerleader, listener, encourager, teacher, and sometimes even professional silly person 😉 But the greatest privilege of all is getting to help children grow in confidence and communication every single day.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and allowing us to be part of their journey. We truly love what we do, and we’re so grateful to do it alongside such amazing families. ✨

W-sitting is something we see often in kids that can be a sign that their core, hips, and overall stability need a little extra support.

The good news? With simple, playful exercises, you can help build strength, balance, and confidence right at home 💪

Try adding these into your daily routine:

✨ Sit-ups for core strength

✨ Single leg balance for stability

✨ Half kneeling for posture and control

Keep it fun, keep it consistent, and celebrate the small wins along the way as they add up to big progress!

Learning body parts is a key part of early development 😊

It helps kids build vocabulary, follow directions, and communicate needs like “my tummy hurts.”

In therapy, we practice this through simple, fun directions like “clap your hands” or “touch your head.”

Try it at home 🏡

Bath: “Wash your belly!”

Dress: “Where do your socks go?”

Play: “Touch your nose!”

Keep it playful and simple—that’s where the magic happens ✨
