One of our sweetest clients, Mr. Pearson (or as he is affectionately known to our staff, Pawpaw Pearson) has been picking and selling produce for the past few years.

He was recently evicted from his previous spot, so of course we jumped at the opportunity to have him spend his Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays here at Highlands. Our building used to be Lowes Fruit Stand, so it's only fitting.

He'll be selling the biggest, prettiest tomatoes 🍅 and some prefect peppers 🌶 out front from noon to 5:00pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Look for his signs and stop by! Just a few minutes with Pawpaw Pearson is guaranteed to make your day better & the veggies are pretty good too! 🖤🐾

It's getting hot!☀️ Forth of July is just around the corner, so this is our yearly reminder to get your pup's anxiety meds called in now so you're ready for the fireworks. Also, be mindful of the heat! Hot pavement can quickly burn paw pads, NEVER leave your pets in the car, and if you're outdoors with pets ensure they have access to plenty of shade, fresh water, and keep outdoor playtimes short.

*PUPDATE!* The dog was picked up by the City of Mobile Animal Shelter today. We'd like to thank them for helping this pup get back home, or find a new one. And thanks to all who took time to share! 🐾

This doggo was wandering solo, dangerously close to highway 90 traffic as we were closing. No microchip. No owner ID.
Is someone missing this baby?

The dog is safe & secure for the night, and we'll be contacting Mobile County Animal Control if the owner isn't found.

If you know this kiddo, please send us a message here identifying the collar & we'll coordinate a return!

We continue our mission to provide our local community with lower cost Spays & Neuters, and we sincerely appreciate your support! We've had several inquiries lately, our Spay & Neuter prices have not changed! The prices listed will be in effect throughout 2025.
We do require a non-refundable, $35 deposit at the time of booking. As always, proof of current rabies vaccine is required. If your pet is due for it's annual rabies vaccination, we can administer it that day, the cost is $13 (including biohazard fee). As a reminder, we're a flea-free hospital! All pets that have fleas will be given a 24 hour flea treatment (capstar) and the cost is between $5-15 depending on weight. In-heat or pregnant females incur a fee for additional surgery time.
