We are excited for Dr. Andrew to join us at the end of August!
HSH Welcomes Dr. Josh Andrews, Bringing Diverse Experience to the Community
Hot Springs Health is pleased to announce the arrival of its newest resident physician, Dr. Josh Andrews, who joins the dedicated team committed to providing exceptional healthcare to the Hot Springs County community. Dr. Andrews brings a unique background and a passion for community-centered care to Thermopolis.
Originally from Ventura, California, Dr. Andrews has embarked on an extensive journey of education and training since the age of 19, traversing the country from California to Massachusetts and Idaho to North Dakota, before recently landing in Wyoming.
During high school, Dr. Andrews started caring for friends and family using home remedies, which piqued his interest in studying medicine. He earned an undergraduate degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed medical school at Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.
“I realized how much I enjoyed caring for family, friends, and my community; this made me work towards being a doctor, Dr. Andrews said. When asked why he chose Hot Springs Health to complete his residency, Dr. Andrews expressed admiration for the program.
"I was impressed with the training offered to residents and the expertise of the attending physicians," he said. "As well as being encouraged by the reciprocal relationship between the community and the attendings/residents."
At Hot Springs Health, Dr. Andrews says he looks forward to gaining a broad range of experiences and training, as well as working closely with the staff to provide quality healthcare. His primary goal as a doctor at HSH is to "pour into the many patients and families I will have the opportunity of caring for and from this gain as much knowledge and training as I can."
Outside of his medical pursuits, Dr. Andrews enjoys spending quality time with his family and indulging in various hobbies. Dr. Andrews enjoys crocheting, foraging and fermenting his own foods such as breads, soy sauce and miso. Dr. Andrews is joined in Thermopolis by his wife, Liza, and their infant child, Araceli, along with a few fish.
The family is eager to immerse themselves in the Thermopolis community and explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
"We're excited for the family-friendly community and to explore the nearby nature," Dr. Andrews added.
The team at Hot Springs Health is thrilled to welcome Dr. Andrews and his family to Thermopolis and looks forward to the valuable contributions they will make to the health and well-being of the community.
“The Thermopolis RTT team is super excited to welcome Josh Andrews, DO, to our community,” said Dr. Travis Bomengen. “His interest and commitment to full-spectrum family medicine and care of the rural patient make him a great match for us. His wife, Liza being from North Dakota is very familiar with rural living, and their daughter Aricella is now almost a year old and a beautiful bundle of energy and joy.”
