Tummy time isn’t just for milestones — it supports feeding too.

Feeding is a full-body skill. When babies develop strength and stability through tummy time, they build the foundation needed for safer swallowing, better coordination, and more organized feeds.

👶 Neck strength supports suck-swallow coordination
👶 Core stability helps maintain posture during feeds
👶 Midline control supports hands-to-mouth skills
👶 Reduced tension allows the mouth to move more efficiently

When the body feels stable, the mouth can do its job.

💛 Small daily movements can lead to calmer feeds, improved coordination, and a more regulated baby.

Simple movements = BIG results.

When we support baby’s body first, we help create the stability and strength needed for feeding, development, and regulation.

👶 Gentle tummy positioning and supporting the elbows underneath the shoulders helps build postural strength, improve coordination, and reduce tension patterns that can impact feeding and oral motor function.

This isn’t just about tummy time.
It’s about building the foundation the whole body depends on.

💛 Stronger posture and better body organization lead to calmer feeds, improved motor skills, and a more regulated baby.

If I could go back, I would tell every parent to do this every day.

Gentle oral massage and facial support help babies relax, organize their mouth movements, and feel more comfortable during feeding.

👶 These simple techniques can reduce tension, improve tongue and jaw coordination, support latch, and promote calmer, more efficient feeds.

It doesn’t take long.
It doesn’t have to be complicated.
But it can make a meaningful difference.

💛 When the mouth feels safe and relaxed, feeding becomes easier — and babies feel it too.

One of the first things I look for in infants is tongue posture at rest.

When the mouth is relaxed — during rest and sleep — we want the tongue resting up on the palate, lips gently closed, and breathing quiet through the nose.

If the mouth hangs open and the tongue rests low, the body is working harder than it should.

👶 Proper tongue elevation supports airway stability, efficient feeding, jaw development, and healthy oral motor patterns.
👶 Open-mouth posture can contribute to noisy breathing, poor coordination, increased tension, and feeding challenges.

These early patterns matter more than most parents realize.

💛 The good news? You can support these skills at home with simple, guided strategies.

The Feeding Connections Collection includes easy-to-read handouts and short videos you can watch on your own time — so you feel confident knowing exactly what to look for and how to help.

Sometimes feeding struggles aren’t about the bottle or breast — they’re clues from the nervous system.

When primitive reflexes remain strong, babies may show signs that feeds feel harder than they should.

👶 Arching or stiffening during feeds
👶 Difficulty staying latched
👶 Startling or losing coordination while eating
👶 Poor head and body stability
👶 Tense arms, hands, or neck
👶 Feeds that feel chaotic instead of calm

These signs don’t mean something is “wrong.” They are signals that your baby may need extra support to feel organized and successful during feeding.

💛 When the nervous system feels supported, feeding often becomes calmer, smoother, and more confident for both baby and parent.

You are not alone in figuring this out.

I saw a sweet mom recently who was feeling defeated with breastfeeding.

Latch felt inconsistent.
Feeds were stressful.
She was starting to question herself.

But here’s the thing — it wasn’t about trying harder. It was about supporting the right skills.

👶 With targeted therapy exercises, better positioning, and the right guidance at home, baby began latching more effectively. Feeds became more organized. And most importantly, mom started feeling confident again.

Sometimes it’s not a supply issue.
It’s not a “bad baby.”
It’s a skill-building opportunity.

💛 When we support the foundations, everything changes — for baby and for mom.

Not all pacifiers are created equal 👏

The shape of a pacifier MATTERS.

A rounded, supportive ni**le shape encourages your baby’s tongue to cup, lift, and move the way it was designed to. That tiny detail directly impacts how your baby sucks, swallows, and breathes.

Flat or overly narrow pacifiers can flatten the tongue, limit tongue elevation, and reinforce inefficient sucking patterns.

And those patterns don’t just affect pacifier time…
they show up in bottles, breastfeeding, and even early feeding skills.

Small changes = big progress.

If you’re wondering:
• why your baby struggles to keep a pacifier in
• why feeds feel messy or disorganized
• or how to support better tongue function

I’ve got you 🤍

The Feeding Connections Oral Motor Guide walks you step-by-step through what healthy oral motor skills should look like and how to support them at home.

This is exactly the kind of education parents wish they had from day one.

✨ You don’t have to guess anymore.

Quiet progress in action 🤍

Sometimes the most powerful changes don’t look dramatic at all.

Gentle touch, slow movements, and intentional connection can help a baby’s body relax, organize, and feel safe. And when the body feels calm, feeding, sleeping, and overall regulation often improve too.

👶 Infant massage isn’t just about comfort — it supports muscle tension, body awareness, digestion, and bonding all at the same time.

Small moments.
Steady consistency.
Real progress.

You don’t need big, complicated techniques to make a meaningful difference.

Behind every feed is a system.

Feeding isn’t just about a bottle or breast — it’s a whole-body process.
Posture.
Tension.
Tongue movement.
Jaw stability.
Breathing.
Regulation.

When one piece of the system feels off, the entire feed can feel hard.

👶 That’s why we never look at feeding as “just eating.” We look at how the mouth, body, and nervous system are working together to make feeding successful.

Support the system →
and feeding naturally gets easier.

💛 Small changes in the right areas can make the biggest difference for both baby and parent.
