Hello everyone!

Today is finally here!

Chris is admitted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for his extended EEG to see if he's having any type of seizure activity. We expect him to stay for 3-5 days.

For anyone that is interested in visiting Chris please message Chris Donarski or Elizabeth Rose Donarski and we can give you room information.

Chris Donarski Elizabeth Rose Donarski

On January 16th, with the roads closed we were unable to make it to Fargo for Chris's extended EEG. He is now scheduled for February 16. He will be admitted for a week, to Sanford's EMU to rule out Epilepsy.

Once Chris is finished with his EEG, the Fargo Sanford Neurologist said they have a rehab program right there. So he would be admitted for 4-6 weeks to try and improve even more.

His cognitive abilities suffer when he pushes himself physically. Sometimes he has "glitches" where he stares into space until someone jars him back. He still has seizure activity at least once a week. His memory isn't like it used to be either. ( Sometimes it feels like talking to someone with Alzheimer's). But we push through and try our best to look at the positives! An occasional joke about him in his wheelchair, or being shorter than everyone gets a chuckle.

Chris also got his new speech device,so if he's unable to talk or move his hands he can communicate with his eyes through the device. It is a really cool thing.

Chris has made amazing strides this past year. With the help of Rehab Authority, Kim, and Libby, Chris went from not feeling his legs to walking almost 300 steps with a walker. He definitely couldn't have done that without those wonderful people. They are appreciated beyond words.

Without Chris and Elizabeth's families we wouldn't be able to do it either. They are there thick and thin. Chris's parents especially when Elizabeth needs a little weekend break.

After a year of waiting, Elizabeth will finally be hired as Chris's PCA.

We definitely couldn't do this without the support, love, and kindness of our friends and family.

So, after Chris's last neurologist visit he was referred to have an extended EEG done which is a 3-5 day stay at the Sanford hospital in Fargo to rule out Epilepsy. He will be admitted on January 26th. Visitors are welcome! We are still working out the details on who is staying with him and where the kids and dogs will be.

Once that's complete and as long as it does rule it out, he will be referred to Sanford's FND Rehabilitation unit. More information on that to come.

Chris learned a new symptom of FND which affects the lungs. Getting help by inhaler, heating pad, compression wrap and anxiety med he is doing better now. Has anyone else with FND experienced a symptom like that and if so what did you do to treat it?

Chris Donarski saw a new Neurologist at Sanford in Fargo. They did reflex/sensation and memory test. He is getting a referral for an extended EEG to rule out Epilepsy. If it's not Epilepsy, he will be eligible for the FND Program at Sanford. That's an extended stay where they will work daily to rehabilitate Chris to be better functioning. We aren't hoping for 100%. We are hoping for him to be better functioning in memory, maybe using a walker more, and less seizure activity. It took two years to get here, but we are now on our way to more answers.
