🌟 Employee Spotlight: Lindsey – Community Relations Specialist 🌟

👩‍💻Lindsey serves as our Community Relations Specialist and has a degree in Communications from Columbus State University. She has worked in the healthcare field for 16 years and was recently voted as Thomaston's Favorite Volunteer. If she’s not at hospice, you can usually find her volunteering at the schools, serving at church, or supporting the Boy Scouts. Deeply rooted in her faith and family, Lindsey pours her heart into everything her boys are involved in while striving to give her very best to her family, her work, and the Thomaston community she loves.

✝She served as the Chairman for the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce (2023–2024) and she was recently voted on the board of directors for an upcoming 2 year term. She is an active member and volunteer at Christ Chapel Community Church in Zebulon. Lindsey is married to her high school sweetheart, Judson and together they have two boys.

😇Her passion for hospice was renewed after her Daddy passed away in May of 2020. Because of COVID, she was unable to be with him when he needed her most, and now she finds meaning in giving to others what she was not able to give to him—the gift of time and compassionate care during such an intimate season of life.

🤣Fun Fact: Lindsey is known for her contagious laughter—if you lock eyes with her, chances are she’ll start giggling at the most unexpected moments. Her joyful spirit has a way of lightening the mood wherever she goes.

💕We are grateful for Lindsey’s heart for service, her dedication to our patients and families, and her constant support to the Thomaston community. 🤣

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Kayla Harp RN 🌟

👩‍⚕️Kayla graduated as an RN in 2017 from Gordon. Born and raised in Thomaston, GA, she attended Upson Christian Academy until 10th grade and graduated from ULHS in 2012.

✝Her faith is a cornerstone of her life—born again in 2003, she is a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church, where she volunteers with kids, sings in the choir, and occasionally performs solos. Sharing her faith with others is one of her greatest joys, with faith and family always at the center.

Professionally, Kayla worked as a med-surge nurse for 4.5 years and an OR nurse for 3 years before finding her calling in hospice care. Her decision to pursue hospice nursing came after the loss of her father, and she describes the work as both healing and meaningful, allowing her to help families say goodbye in ways she never had the chance to herself.

Outside of work, Kayla embraces adventure and spontaneity.
🥾She enjoys taking spontaneous trips, riding around in her Jeep with the top back, napping, hiking, and fishing.
🫏She once hiked Devil’s Bridge in Arizona and even rode a donkey into the Grand Canyon! She has also been skydiving and dreams of one day obtaining her scuba certification.

Hopes to one day harvest a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner 🦃

🎹Currently learning piano and hopes to add violin to her skills in the future 🎶

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Chris Hinson – Chaplain 🌟

👨‍💻Chris serves as our Chaplain here at Thomaston Hospice, bringing both compassion and energy to our patients, families, and staff. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and a minor in Speech and Communications. He went on to earn his Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities.

👉In addition to his role at hospice, Chris also serves as the Executive Director of People at Chick-fil-A in Thomaston. He has completed a certificate of Clinical Pastoral Education and Training, further equipping him to serve others during life’s most meaningful moments.

✝️Chris also lived and worked in Uganda for 2.5 years, an experience that deepened his love for people and his ability to connect across cultures.

💜If you know Chris, you know he doesn’t do well with idle time—he’s always on the move and staying busy. Around here, we lovingly call him the “golden child of hospice” because he truly is a favorite among patients, families, and staff alike. His warm personality and genuine care make him unforgettable.

💝Meet Sonja, whose warm smile, kind heart, and patient spirit make her a joy to work with and a blessing to those she serves.

👩‍⚕️She is currently part of our hospice care team, but her experience also includes working in short- and long-term care facilities. Sonja loves being on the front lines of medical care, assisting patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.

❤️‍🩹While the work can be challenging, Sonja says it is also incredibly rewarding—especially if you love people. Her compassion and dedication shine through in every interaction.

🎬When she’s not caring for patients, Sonja enjoys relaxing at home and watching scary movies, her favorite way to unwind.

💡 Fun Fact: Sonja is almost always smiling, and her gentle nature instantly puts people at ease.

Meet one of our compassionate and energetic team members who brings heart, faith, and dedication into everything she does.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦She’s been married to her husband, Mark, for over 34 years, and together they’ve raised five children—Alex, Austin, Grace, Alyssa, and Logan. She’s also a proud mother-in-law to Hannah, who is married to Alex, and Mumsie to two beautiful grandchildren: Staford and Stella.

🐶For over 20 years, she and Mark opened their home as foster parents, lovingly welcoming children into their family. Their four-legged family member, Ash, is a lovable standard poodle.

🐘She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Alabama and is a proud, diehard Alabama fan through and through.

💙Though she never pictured herself in hospice care, she considers it a true gift and an honor to help patients face death with dignity while supporting families through the grieving process.

💡 Fun Fact: She loves Mexican food, sunny days at the beach, and says there's really nothing people don't know about her—she’s an open book who lives life out loud!
