This morning, “The Hive” had the honor of showing a little appreciation to the heroes of Meriwether, who answer the call day in and day out for their community.

Nothing says THANK YOU quite like a good breakfast, so we fired up the griddle and brought the goods! 🥞🔥

Because let’s be honest… saving lives runs a whole lot smoother with a full stomach.

‼️🐝 Community partnerships are what make “The Hive” stronger every single day! 🐝‼️

Sometimes loving our community looks like coffee and doughnuts… and honestly, nobody at AE-185 is turning down a Boston Cream and a good cup of coffee ☕🍩.

💕 But other times, loving our community means sitting down together, sharing ideas, and finding ways to serve our patients faster and more efficiently when every second counts.

📻 Recently, Upson County transitioned from a traditional telephone launch process to our new web-based launch platform, Transport.Net. To continue building stronger regional partnerships, Upson County 911 hosted Lamar County 911 to collaborate, exchange ideas, and explore innovative ways to improve helicopter launch operations across our surrounding communities.

This system is a major advancement in emergency communications and response coordination. Features include:

🚁 Faster helicopter launch activation
📍 Live aircraft tracking
📡 Instant communication with our communications center without tying up phone lines
⚡ Streamlined coordination that reduces delays and improves response times

At the end of the day, faster launch times mean more time spent at the patient’s side — and that’s what truly matters.

‼️ Good Afternoon Upson and surrounding counties!! ‼️

📚 This morning The Hive 🐝 had the distinct pleasure of buzzing over to spend time with some of Meriwether’s newest EMT students! 🧑‍🎓

🚁 💨 We had a great time getting hands-on with the aircraft and covering some essential skills including landing zone set-ups, emergency procedures, aircraft familiarization, and practical scenarios designed to help everyone work together seamlessly when seconds matter most.

There’s nothing better than investing in the future of EMS and helping build strong partnerships that ultimately lead to better patient care for the communities we all serve.

A huge thank you to Meriwether Fire & EMS for inviting us out and trusting us with your newest shiny EMTs! We’re excited to continue growing together and look forward to many future opportunities to train, learn, and strengthen our partnership.
